"Porsche Protection Plan"...caveat emptor
In 2013 I ordered a new Boxster S (brand new body style) and paid about $4200 for the comprehensive protection plan. Never filed a claim.
In 2021 I ordered a Turbo S and paid $4958 for Wheel/Tire, Windshield (good for ONE replacement), and key fob. About 30 days after taking delivery I took a rock to the windshield in a place that required replacement, about $2800.
I just submitted a wheel/tire claim and was a little surprised by what I learned. Two wheels were rashed all the way around, and one was bent. One tire was chewed up pretty good.
The insurer replaced the tire, and paid to "repair/refinish" the two wheels. Payout was equivalent to $780. Wheel "repair" is done while the wheels and tires are on the car. It's strictly an attempt to improve the cosmetics. If you have ever paid to have wheels refinished by an expert shop, this is NOT that.
The Porsche Tech stated that the wheel was bent, it COULD NOT BE BALANCED CORRECTLY due to this fact, and he recommended replacement.
Insurer denied replacement because my tire holds air/does not leak. They referred to the policy as a "failure to seal contract." In other words, no replacements if the tire still seals to the wheel, regardless of wheel condition. To add to the wonkiness of this arrangement, the contract has a paragraph outlining owner responsibilities which include, among other things, that I balance my wheels appropriately. Kinda funny, but clearly intended to create legal gray area.
Buyers beware...read the fine print and get comfortable with the terms before adding this to your purchase experience. In my case...never again.

Thanks for reiterating the sleazyness of these protection packages.

Please call out the warranty company as a PSA to warn other prospective buyers of said plan.

We test drove a defender 110 yesterday at the indigo dealership
67k was the Msrp.
add wheels and tires 10k
dealer markup 7500
safe guard 1250 I think
that silly new California digital plate another 1k
couple of other things. Ended up slightly under 100. For a defender

"Porsche protection Plan" will always be a re-branded 3rd party warranty with the licensed Porsche name on the piece of paper at the end of the day. It's not you or any other customers fault for trusting the dealership and not questioning who the underwriter is for the "Porsche" plan. There are so many customers out there with a misunderstanding of what exactly it is their purchasing, of course at a premium for the Porsche reputation, and not the reality... it falls on the dealership and the sales staff. The most common "come to truth" situation I hear is when a warranty claim is denied, the Porsche dealership has no problem bringing Safe Guard's name out to shift the blame.
*not directed at any one dealership, just expressing customer feedback I've heard/seen expressed on Rennlist previously, variable customer service and the overall dealership experience varies between Porsche dealerships. Even stores only 20 minutes away from each other can be night and day.*

Update- Looks like my dealer (Indigo) has my back. Not the first time, either. Kudos to Indigo!

Well it is not right that you should have to pay for it, but it typically costs me $300 to have a bent wheel fixed. I had the same situation with BMW and a bent wheel that would still hold air. Unfortunately, this particular BMW wheel design could not be repaired because of the alloy it is made from (this is what they told me).
