Default 992 brake upgrade

Does anyone know if brake calipers from a 2022 GT3 will fit on my 2023 992 "T". I would like to upsize the rotors to 380 girodisk as well. Any info would be appreciated.

With enough money, anything is possible. The GT3 however, has a completely different suspension setup, so a bolt on solution is unlikely. You would have more luck going to the GTS setup. Even then, you will likely need more parts than just the rotors and calipers. Like mounting brackets, lines. I’ve never done it though, so I don’t know for sure.

Might as well consider a big brake kit as an option, then switch back when its time to sell.

One might reasonably ask ‘why’? The entire point of the T (if you believe the marketing hype) is ‘less is more’…. Less weight/engine/tire/brakes all operating in harmony, much like a Miata. The standard brakes with upgraded pads should be able to handle most any kind of driving style… so ‘what problem are you trying to solve’?

Probably to avoid looking like a 2004 Yukon on 30s.

I hope looks aren't the reason, the T brakes are great and new pads take them to the next level for the minority of owners that need that. Upgrading for looks? I'd actually respect the Yukon on 30s more.

You would probably have better luck fitting the brakes from a GTS, they fill the wheel wells pretty nicely if that is what you are looking for.

I upgraded my 991.2 T front brakes to OEM "S" 6 piston caliper with no modifications so this might be the path of least resistance for you - the end result is better stopping power, OEM approved and looks better in my opinion. Then top it off with better pads and you should be good to go.

GTS brakes for 992s are Turbo brakes so I suspect even swap is not an option.

I had Girodisc rotors on my base 992 C2. The kit basically upgrades the rotors size to the "S" size, includes spacers for the larger rear rotors. Highly recommend this approach. Simple swap, no need to change calipers, etc. Add some high performance pads and you're all set. On the track, this setup felt better than the stock brakes on my GTS.

So, a setup with better pads felt better than stock brakes? That does make sense.

To the OP, just get new pads and you'll have plenty of brakes for your T. Adding S brakes will only slow you down.

Not to sound snarky, but the car has more then enough brake...my suspicion is you're using too much of them. SRF and a good pad is all you need. Take the money from the BBK and spend on some coaching would be my recommendation. There's never any need to stand the car on its nose.

I LOVE IT!!!!!! I think even the Carrera S rotors look small under 20- and 21-inch wheels, and for only that size reason, I've configured all-four different-color dream-2024 Carrera Ss with the ceramic brakes, which include 410mm (16.1") and 390mm (15.4") rotors...with black calipers.. FWIW, I'm happy to see the ceramic package retain 6-piston front calipers instead of those 10-piston monsters.

I also have a big-brake kit for my '23 Ford Explorer ST which features 15.9" front and 15" rear rotors, all to look MUCH better under 22" wheels..

Let the man spend HIS money as he likes. 😀 And when he finds some larger rotors that are affordable, maybe I'll join him with my 2022 Carrera S.
