@JRitt@essex what is the weight savings by replacing the factory T calipers with your 4 pot calipers?
I do not know what the factory weights are for the stock 330mm F/R discs, perhaps @JRitt@essex can chime in as they quote weight savings for all their kits so must have this information?

The 350mm ST fronts are 12.75 lbs ea. The ST rears are 5mm narrower than the fronts, but I don't have any here to weigh at the moment. I would expect these to weigh about the same as the fronts (+/- 0.5 lbs) since the rear hats are usually a bit heavier but the rear discs are thinner. Based on the stock discs I have weighed in the past, the STs are typically anywhere from 45-60% lighter than a similarly sized iron equivalent.

Much of this comes down to what are your goals. Do you hate brake dust? Are you chasing lap times? Looking for larger discs aesthetically? Trying to save weight? The good news is there is a solution for you for just about every scenario. You may find the factory setup is actually best, and that is ok too. That's what I am here for.

The factory front rotor is 23lbs and the rear is 19.9lbs. For what's worth, the PCCB front rotor is 15lbs and rear is 13.8lbs.

23 lbs seems pretty heavy for 330mm discs, is this confirmed? If this is true, the 350mm Surface Transforms will save roughly 32-35 lbs most likely. Not bad at all but would like to confirm that.

AND….adding a $9k high performance option to T with a base engine because you prefer yellow and don’t like brake dust? I will paint your calipers yellow and swap your pads for you for $3k. That’s a win-win for both of us. No psychological benefit to a high optioned T. Just get a GTS with turbo brakes.

Unless you value low weight instead of more power.

Don’t need painted calipers but I’d probably pay $3k for the secret to just “getting” a GTS. I don’t rate a Christmas card from porsche dealer, let alone the ability to jump the list to get a premium model during my lifetime. ;-)

Ha ha. Me neither. I just had a near perfect 991 that I bought CPO from the same dealer and he wanted it back during COVID supply chain disaster. So, he offered me an allocation at MSRP at no ADM to get my car back. Smart on his part as he made profit on 2 cars instead of one.

Good point Fishah,…..…but I think I would spend that extra $9k on bigger turbos and a tune before I moved on to brakes even considering the unsprung weight reduction that you correctly point out.

@Hinz Motorsport going by his handle, I'm assuming he has S brakes. @20C4S can you confirm?

@JRitt@essex can you help confirm OEM T rotor weights? Also, do you know the weight of T calipers? Is it the same as the GTS PCCBs you have on the scale? I presume they are a bit lighter no? Lastly, would I be able to use ST rotors with AP calipers? Because to fulfill my goal of largest possible weight loss, that would be the setup.

@20C4S thank you for this. To clarify, I was wondering if you could confirm if those are S brakes or the smaller T brakes. TIA

Has anyone driven the same car back to back, one with PCCB and one without? I wonder if there is a noticeable difference. I know I could tell a difference in the weight difference between Hoosiers and Michelin street tires.

Over 50lbs of unsprung weight difference in combination with a light forged wheel set up, bet you will.
