Default Exclusive Option leather console

Most of us on the newsgroup, including myself, are not enamored with the piano black plastic trim on the console. It can be wrapped, covered with carbon fiber (DB Carbon), or covered with leather (Exclusive Option). I chose the latter route. Their web site is here and yes, they’re pricey:

https://exclusiveoption.com/

If you choose DB Carbon, you just have to stick them on the respective plastic parts. If you choose to replace with Exclusive Option parts or wrap the parts, you’ll have to remove the panels. There’s a good video describing the process here:

It takes a fair amount of force to pop the various parts. You don’t want to overdo the effort because you might break a clip. The trim around the cup holder is particularly vulnerable; pull the rear up and then back to avoid breaking the front clips.

Once the parts are out, reinstalling is a breeze. Here are some photos of the parts and the before and after install. Worth it? Up to you. I like it. Next up: GT3 side skirts.

Ready to install. I was surprised they sent the whole switch module

The much maligned piano black

And the leather replacement

I was asked not to post the price. They gave me their best price and it was still quite spendy, but the workmanship is outstanding. Given the rather cheap looking and scratch prone Porsche standard (w/o any option for upgrade), I like it a lot. As an OBTW, I asked why they sent the whole switch panel vice just the removable cover. It turns out you can't just buy the cover, you have to buy the whole thing in either no switch, two switch, or four switch versions. Interesting.

Website leaves a lot to be desired. I'd like a more interactive site to see their products, even if they are one offs or unique.

I think this looks great but for me I don’t mind the piano black. Having a T, the part around the cup holder is black as well so I feel the cohesiveness of the trim all the way through to the A/C controls is much better. The different materials across the console set off my OCD.

However leather wrapped from cup holder trim all the way through the A/C controls, now we are talking. Unfortunately I don’t think the A/C part can be done given the LED displays.

Are the pieces you had wrapped in leather not included with the "Interior Trim Inlays in Leather" option?? It's hard to tell what you are actually getting on the Configurator?

It will be just the “bottom part” where the brushed aluminum is in the pictures above

Looks very cool. How well does the leather match the Porsche leather.

You can also get those interior trim inlays in the exterior color of the car. On another thread, someone also noted to get the "cupholders in leather" option, otherwise the pop outs are plastic pieces. Seems like good advice visually, and its a low cost option.

@F8Driver are you in the Bay Area or did you deal with them by phone? These guys are on my list for some future upgrades and they are local to me. How was your experience with them? Work looks excellent.

For those wondering about Exclusive Option quality, Frank(Exclusive Option) did the entire interior of my wife’s 997.2 C4S. Every square inch of the interior is in leather.

I also had exclusive cover several parts for my 997. Including rear console and overhead lighting cover. They do nice work and the leather and stitching is a match.

If you're referring to the Porsche manufactured cup holder upgrade, it's just the passenger side. I didn't do it with my black/mojave full leather and the cupholder blends perfectly with the lower dash.

I live in MS. They Fedex'd the parts. Didn't take long. Yes, if you're in the Bay area, I think a visit would be worthwhile.
