GTS Locks On 29th, Trying To Decide on Aerokit
Ordering my 2nd 992, this time a GTS. The one option I am still going back and forth on is the Aerokit. The attached picture is how I have the exterior spec'd as of now and it locks on February 29th. My one concern is that at some point I might get tired of the wing. The one option that I was thinking may be possible would be to shift to a ducktail at that point? Naturally my wife voted against the wing but my 17 year old son is firmly in the camp of getting the wing. This will be primarily a weekend/fun car so pulling into to the office parking lot and wanting to be discrete is not a concern. I do like the fact the wing is functional and even has a scoop to pull fresh air into the intercoolers. Let me know your thoughts, especially on the idea that moving to a ducktail could be the answer if I get tired of the wing.

I've ordered Aerokit and in previous versions of the 911 it didn't look great but man on the 992...superb! You should take a look at the "Show me your Aerokit" thread here:

Since you asked - I’d go for it. When you tailgate it’s great to put snacks and beverages on.

The 992 aerokit is pretty tasteful and doesn't look at all like a 992 GT3.
You said "weekend fun car". Well, wings are fun --- and heck, how often to get to make a 17yo kid happy.
I don't know your marriage situation, but hopefully, you're in a place where a wing isn't going to cause it all to come crashing down.

I would pass.
I have had (2) GT3s, GT4 and to be candid, the Porsche lines look better w/o the aerokit. Hence, why the GT3 Touring has been very popular and almost impossible to get.
Yes- The Aerokit will get old.
Maybe I am just getting older

I think the aero kit wing is the worst looking wing in Porsche's line up. Looks like a cheap aftermarket version. It sits too high and the left/right columns and bottom part too thick. It takes away from the rest of the clean lines of the car. Plus I think unnecessarily putting a wing on a car is for teenagers. You asked for opinions.
Having said all that, it's your car so you do you.

When I see one out on the street I think why did I not get that option. Then I realize I see them rarely and if I had to look at mine everyday I would probably get tired of it. I drive mine daily so I have a different use from you. I can see it being more special on that weekend only car where it is an experience to pull it out each week vs me taking kids to school etc…. Just yesterday I picked up two bags of 50 lb fertilizer and the guy loaded it into the frunk. We had a good laugh that most guys around here use their pickup for no real reason but I use a 911 to do fertilizer runs!

Unless you are going at extremely high speeds, the aerokit has zero functionality over the regular spoiler. Get it if you like the looks not for functionality.
Personally you could not pay me to add the aerokit to my car.

Don't wait until lock day to decide, it could lock early. I fall into the wing for GT cars camp. Up to you.

I was a no aerokit when I got mine, and it is the one option I wish I had gone for and am still considering ordering the OEM part and adding it.
Here is one thing to think about. I was driving down the highway and saw something sporty off in the distance, but it kind of looked weird and not quite right. As I came up on it, was it an eclipse or something. Got closer, nope a 992, with the rear active spoiler up. The rear active spoiler deployed with the accordion black plastic underneath, does not really look very appealing from behind. And I am usually driving fast enough that it is up.
