I'm sure this is not an issue at the dealership but the point is that left undisturbed is always better. I guess better to have it replaced though vs a safety issue. I have noticed that my glass is unusually cloudy (and not just off-gassing). I do have the lightweight glass.
Yes it sucks. Looks like quality control really went out the window during and post pandemic, Porsche probably just wanted to get the cars out and of course we were all eager to get our hands on a new 911. I just put up to the cost of getting the car during these unusual recent times. But at least fixed under warranty and things should improve moving forward.

I have a 2023 C2GTS and a window whistling at 66 mph. Notified dealer will attempt to address at May annual service. Following closely.

🤦‍♂️👎👎
Got this notice too...am confused tho as to does this apply to ALL 992 cars or only those with light weight glass?

Are you saying that your car does not have LW glass, but you received a recall on your glass anyway?

Thanks for posting. That seems to confirm that the recall is only applicable to the vehicles with LW glass.

This is so absurd. So all GT cars affected….. just go to your friendly dealership and have them pull all your glass for replacement. No biggie…

I have a 2021 C2S with the Light Weight Glass option. At least as of today, my VIN doesn't pull up any recalls.
UPDATE: As of April 25, 2024 my VIN now shows up for the Glass recall.

To soon… dealers haven’t even been notified about it.

The Recall Notice says that 10% of the noted vehicles are estimated to be affected and that an inspection will determine whether a replacement is needed. So do I read this right that not everyone will need the glass replaced ? My guess is they pry on the rearview mirror as a good indicator of the adhesion level of the glass. More to come on this but unfortunate for sure...

This is the way I’m interpreting it. 800 actually affected!?? I will definitely not have my glass replaced preemptively if in the recall batch like @TUD mentioned. I’ll monitor for problems down the road. I’ve avoided several “safety” recalls over the years from Honda and Volvo. Who knows how this will play out….

No whistling, just spontaneous spidering . . . .

Lightweight sound and heat insulating glass on my windshield, 992 December 2021 build date. Glass appears clear except in bright sunlight and at particular viewing angles. No tinting film.

I'm an owner of one of the supposedly affected cars but no noise so I'll just wait and see.

PCA article says you can go out on the NHTSA website and enter your VIN to check for the glass recall.

late October 2023 build here, mine isn’t showing up as part of the recall. Knock on wood I’m not having any issues with LW glass. It’s Pilkington brand on my car.
