No, I bet he did mean C4S as he is from Montana. Probably wants all wheel drive.
Correct, I put my name on the list for a c4s. Dealer had me sign a purchase order that states price is MSRP plus $699 dealers fee. He just gave me a heads up it will likely be a .2 model based on a year wait being #6 in line. He didn’t promise me anything regarding transmission options, etc. I’ll probably keep my 991 if there’s no manual option and buy something else.
The AMG GT is a 4 door coupe, so not really in the same class… My guess is people will keep buying as many as they can make as there is no real comparable sports car on the market that does what the 911 does.
The AMG GT is available in a two door that looks suspiciously similar to the 911 from behind.
I think the point is - they have no idea when they are going to get an allocation, and one that they will give to you at MSRP. It could happen at any time, if their 992.1 order book has some cancellations or others on the list now refuse to pay ADM because the market is loosening up, and they walk, you could get your car sooner. Or the reverse could happen and it could be even longer. Deposits and allocations are totally decoupled from each other given the way things work now.
I am on the list at my dealer for a PTS 992.2 of any style that offers a manual. No deposit required. Hopeful fall 2025 delivery. I don’t see how it’s unethical at all. Even a refundable deposit would be fine tbh.
I don't believe that. The factory is humming along making 992.1s and if anything allocations have been easier to get lately. There are still months left to go, unless you are talking to a small volume dealer who doesn't get many allocations to begin with.

true story. Very successful dealer. Allocations have been flowing for end of run
Our local dealer requires zero deposit for local individuals, especially for those that are current/prior Porsche owners. They also sell new Porsches w/o an ADM.
Same for mine. No deposit, no ADM and I've had zero prior Porsches. He said its better for future business from that customer. I don't disagree. I'm not in a big city though.
