Since this is not a warranty issue that would force you to replace the original part with the identical one, I would skip the light weight windshield. Not only is it cheaper, you won't have to replace as often.

What has happened with the prices of windshield replacements across all cars is one of the reasons why insurance costs are skyrocketing.
