Default Ever Dragged Your Charger?

Being lazy a few days back, I plugged my charger into the garage wall outlet on the passenger side where it is plugged in at the footwell. Yesterday morning, running late to my daughter's house to babysit the gkid...
well, it wasn't until a good fellow pulled up alongside me after 10 minutes on the expressway to let me know...
Yep, the good ol' CTEK was trailing out the passenger door just having a grand time banging along the highway. Pulled myself over and unplugged the device figuring it was a goner. However, plugged the charger in last night and presto! The damn thing still works!! So kudos to CTEK for making such a great product.
And, now I plug the device into the wall outlet on the driver's side. As I should have done in the first place.
Wonder how many of us have similar stories of escorting our chargers down the road?

Not the charger, but I have done the block heater cord off the side of the house a couple of times

More times then I’d care to admit. Thankfully never made it out of the drive way.

I backed out of my garage, the tore the wire right out of the charger housing. I fixed it by opening up the charger and resoldering the wires back onto the circuit board.

Ever since then, I’ve kept a sticky note taped to the PCM reminding me to remove the charger. After I start the car, I remove the note and place it (sticky side up) in my glove box for reuse when I park.

I put a rather large neon green detailing towel on the front windshield to remind my dumba$z self to unplug before I leave. Because...well, me.

I plug into the battery so I leave the hood slightly ajar. The car warms me of that fact👍.

But on my older cars, I have backed out a few feet with it plugged in. Thankfully the quick disconnect detached, leaving the charger in the garage.

BTW, I'm not sure I'd continue to trust a charger that's been dragged like that. It's got circuit boards and stuff inside. The downside of it malfunctioning just night be a FIRE. Replace it for safety's sake. Maybe write to the company and explain what happened, commending them on their product but nicely ask if they wouldn't mind replacing it to avoid a fire being blamed on their product. Maybe you'll get a freebie.

I fully unplugged it from the wall once by backing out with it sticking out the frunk and the another time, backed out 6” before remembering. Wiper blade will be my go to move now.

Just be careful while using the wiper blade trick, not to open the hood while the blade is up, breaking the arm or scratching the hood.

When I read the thread title I thought it would be about drag racing a Dodge Charger, LOL

Haha - same...

I have once forgotten to unplug my Ctek from the Ferrari (it's connected to a proprietary connector under the rear side bumper). Thankfully it just disconnected at the connector and didn't come along for the ride. I somehow noticed (or a bit too late remembered) so I actually stopped where I was about 1/4 out of the garage and realized it was already unplugged and the both sides (car connector and charger) were fine.
