My first new Porsche in a long time
Quite an exciting day from me and my first post in this section of the forum so thought I would introduce myself.
I've been a hard core Porsche nut for over 30 years (still own a 993 C4S that is coming up to its third decade with me soon enough and a 964 C4). The last new Porsche I had was a 997.1 GT3RS but that was sold some 12 years ago now and I've been stuck in the smell of oil in my clothes as I continue to drive my air cooled plungers to the ground. But as my final car gift to myself I finally decided to add a new water cooled 911 again to the garage to see me to my sunset years.
With a fair bit of time on my hands to think about what I would want as my final addition to the rear engined stable, my priorities became clear:
First, the car had to have manual as it would be somewhat involving daily.
Second, suspension that could cope with pot holes and rough roads would be paramount as I would want to be able to take the car out without over thinking if a route would shake my aging joints into oblivion.
Third, the car would still need to be good for back road driving as I still savour quality time rowing through the gears linking corners together but it doesn't need to obliterate the roads as I now realise the limitations of my reflexes as I get older (and I do love to drive a slow car fast more than driving a fast car slow).
Fourth the car would need to offer the ability to occasionally go to the track (whilst I haven't been to the track in close to a decade, the idea that I have a new car that can still work on the track should I want to go is important. But as my days of chasing lap times are over, the new car would not need to be track focused. And I think I did mention that I do love the idea of driving a slow car fast hence my undying love for my air cooled 911s.
After spending a fair bit of time on You Tube ploughing through all the new models that can be had in manual and simple. Basically, it had to be a Carrera T, as it essentially reminded me of the RS America of the 964 era, that is so highly sought after today. But the big problem was finding one for sale in Australia as there have been so few deliveries to date, and those that have been delivered have all come with PDK and rear wheel steer.
As luck would have it, whilst there were no second hand cars available that met the spec, a random decision to walk into my local Porsche Centre lead to me discovering a T that had just been delivered to the show room due to a cancellation by the buyer at the last minute. Specs were really in line with what I was hoping for. Manual, no rear wheel steer (I am too traditional and I don't want rear wheels that are doing something I don't control other than going forward (or occasionally backward), 18 way adjustable seats (blame old age for this requirement), and a sun roof (I always drive with my sun roof open when the weather is good- the only 911 I didn't have a sun roof on ever was my RS). The absolute icing on the cake was that this car was covered in PTS Malachitegreenmetallic which is a metallic green which is very close to the colour of my 993 4S. The two things on the car that I didn't care for much was the inclusion of rear seats and the front axle lift as that is something I just don't ever remember to use till after I have scraped the front of my cars- it's time to change that habit I guess! And finally, I wish the wheels were gold in colour....
Really look forward to getting to know this car and make it my secondary daily and interacting with this forum more. Much thanks for reading my ramblings, and some pictures of my new baby. Will be collecting her later this week or this weekend perhaps once I can spare the time.

Beautiful car. Congratulations! It looks very similar to Aventurine Green from the pictures. Is there a bit more blue in this PTS color than Aventurine Green. Just curious.

Burning Brakes
Amazing spec, also reminds me that my 992 T allocation was denied for PTS paint and I would have gone with a shade of green as well.
thanks a lot… haha jk, enjoy!

From those pics it almost looks like avertine (sp) green or agate gray.
Nice spec and you will be better able to wring out the base engine in street driving than it more powerful counterparts.
Enjoy!
