A while back I purchased a door that I thought was a 964 door. I should have verified that it would fit before I had it painted. This door obviously doesn't fit my car. Can someone verify that this is for a 993 vehicle? It has unique tabs which I haven't seen on a 964 door. Any help would be appreciated!

Those tabs are on my 993 doors.

I am assuming it is the door panels and not the door itself that doesn't fit your 964?

Yes, the tabs are extra parts but that’s not the problem according to my body shop. They say it sticks out at the A pillar about an inch.

Before I take this another shop, I was looking to see if this door would fit my 964. If not, I will try to sell this door as a 993.

I am not sure off the op of my head what changes to the interior panel mountings occurred. If the 964 mounting points remain. You should be able to grind the 993 points off and use it. The actual doors are the same for the most part going way back except specialty cars like the speedster.
