18" Wheels - looking for weight & recommendations
I am thinking very seriously about moving to 18" wheels when I go through this set of tires on my speed yellow 993 Cab (I'm trying to make that as quick as possible). I will most likely go with 18x8 in the front and 18x10 in the rear.
I'm interested in recommendations as to what people think would look the best. Also, I'm trying to determine the weight of the different options to use that as one of the criteria for the decision.
Here are the wheels I'm considering (the weights I've got hear are from searching through previous posts and may not be accurate):
Current 17" Light Alloy Wheels on car - front ???, rear ???
Fikse FM/10 - 21 lbs front and 22 rear
Rennsport Wheels (through Gert) - front ???Kg, rear ???Kg with tires
Speedlines wheels with RS emblem (just like Hank's car) - front ???, rear ???
Kinesis K28 - 21, 24lbs
Forgeline WC3 - front ???, rear ???
Thanks very much for the help.

Rick,
The only wheels that I had experience with were BBS RS, BBS RSII, and Kinesis K5.
I like the BBS RS the best, but since they don't have them in 18" (RS's been discontinued), try the BBS Magnesium wheels. I would not buy the RSII, they weight more then pigs.
Go to <a href="http://www.fabspeed.com" target="_blank">Fabspeed</a>, they carry them.
Just my $.02... <img src="graemlins/wave.gif" border="0" alt="[byebye]" />

Kim,
No, I meant BBS RSII are heavy, they are 2-piece with aluminum rim potector on. They are multi-spoke with close center cap and hidden valve stem.
BTW, form what I know the RS 3-piece that are made by Speedline (similar to your picture) is heavy. They have cast center not magnisium center.

For a street car you don't want to use the BBS Magnesium Race wheel it is not near as durable as alternatives. They are lighter by a few pounds but in a street car what difference does it make.
I broke two centers last year and it could have been a very expensive incident. It wasn't cheap to replace the centers, bolts, and gaskets but at $900 it was much less than a trip to the body shop. I try not to use these wheels except for qualifying and racing due to their shorter life expectancy.
Besides they are not as well done as other wheels, the casting is rough and I doubt you could install a center cap.
If you want BBS look at the LM model.

Are the Rennsport Wheels that Gert is selling (which is on the picture below) and the Speedlines like Hank has on his RS the same wheel or different wheels?
They look very similar but it strikes me as odd that Porsche would utilize a relatively heavy wheel for this application.
BTW - whoever gave me 5 stars, thanks but much undeserved relative to the real 5 star people on this board. I haven't had 5 stars since I was in the second grade!

Hank has the factory RS wheels on his car.
