Should be interesting to see where this ends up. Low miles but has been driven (ie the next owner shouldn't be afraid to drive a bit more)

The fear of driving that 4S isn't from putting more miles on it...the fear is that it will tip over rounding a corner on that 4x4 suspension!

Fear not, it's an easy fix.

I love the estimates the auction sites put on these cars. $130K-$160K for a very nice but completely basic C4S that's not a particularly desirable color. Never gonna happen. Not even close.

$130 - $160 .... hell if this car sells at this price I would be willing to part with mine ...mine has 31K and is absolutely mint. New Clutch, Stack of records, Purchased from Porsche Classic & Serviced, 30K Service performed, New Bilstien Suspension, New P-Zeros, well over $10K invested in last year. Engine is Dry as a bone / No Leaks and Needs nothing. Underneath is so clean you could eat off it. No Rain / No Snow..always garaged. All the right tasteful mods and all original parts too. $120K and it's yours! Title "In Hand."

We can watch with interest, but I bet it doesn't even break $90K. The days of six figure 993 C2S's and C4S's are over......at least for the foreseeable future.

I dunno... I am very interested in the Auction result. Future values of these cars will rise for the Excellent low mile examples... it's a given. Not many were made, hand built and last of the Air Cooled cars. I know of a few C2S and C4S with low mile excellent examples selling north of $110K in the last year. Honestly, it all comes down to what somebody is willing to pay especially in an Auction Setting you only need 2 people that want the car.

OMG! and my C4S just broke 41K miles.......... but I don't care because it's modified with PSS10 shocks, a CDR220 radio upgrade and Gemballa wheels! Major loss in value
Guess I'll just have to drive it!

a nice (but has some issues/stories) 964 C2 with 24K miles just sold on BaT for $84,450 (with fee) - this says something about the health of the air cooled market for low mileage cars

You may be right and I agree that over time our 993's will appreciate - certainly for perfect examples and probably for nice clean examples. We'll watch the auction results and see what happens . However, auctions are not always a good indicator of market price. And yes, per your examples, museum quality cars will command a premium. But there are always outliers and auctions can bring out the crazy money. I just don't think your typical C2S or C4S is bringing six figures on a regular basis. Their value has declined since 2014, as has the collector car market in general.
I wish (hope) I'm wrong as I have a beautiful C2S.......wait......I'm not selling so it doesn't matter to me.
