That's a lot of $ i thought it might sell around the $90,000 to $100,000 being a plain - jane even with the low milage. Seller is a happy camper.

It actually made it to their estimate of $130k-$160k - albeit barely. Wow

I personally inspected this car and as most of you know, I am very critical/particular. Its was a VERY nice car, 100% original paint (I put a meter on it) and very few if any real flaws. Only notable items in my opinion were it needed tires due to age (fronts original, rears from early 2000's), window tint should have been removed and it while very clean it hadn't been given any type of "concours" or chassis type detail. The car was lightly optioned and didn't have any particular "wow" aside from the condition, I would have said it was worth $115k retail in the open market so $132k represents ~ $15-20k of auction excitement and exuberance. Well sold, but the buyer got a nice car. Win/Win in my view.

Nathan-- if you are the Nathan at the RM panel discussion yesterday- nice job.

Lots of GREAT eye candy at Gooding, and Bonhams too for that matter.

That was me, glad you enjoyed the presentation. It was a fun week, lots of great people, wonderful weather (until today!) and some really interesting (in both a good and sometimes a bad way...) cars!

I just noticed the cars you own, no wonder you liked my presentation! I RAVED about 914's and Boxster Spyder's (we were mostly talking alternate cars to the traditional discussion on air-cooled 911 derivatives, but always hard not to plug my love for the 993!). I was blessed as my ride for the entire week was a 2016 Boxster Spyder. I have never been so smitten with a late model Porsche. It truly has "soul", something a 993 has in spades!

For anyone interested in the RS market- the RM 993 3.8 was a pig and I feel terrible for whoever the buyer is on that. The car has had a ton if replaced parts, mold/ mildew damage, bad paint, probably a replaced rear wing, and the seats look absolutely knackered for 6400 Miles. It really bothers me that people nitpick prices but fail to miss huge details- aftermarket strut brace, paint tape marks, bent metal, missing trim pieces etc.

Be careful when buying off a catalog description!!

I couldn't agree more! I attend all the major auctions because people discussing the cars utilizing some glossy marketing photos and good ad copy means they miss critical details. You never know if a car was well bought or well sold unless you are knowledgable and have personally inspected the cars. There were a few exceptional cars, but there were also some absolutely DISMAL cars and a few cars that had KNOWN MAJOR (known to the sellers) issues yet they will hide behind the AS-IS nature of the auctions. As always, inspect what you expect and caveat emptor!

I was a bidder on the Scottsdale car. I lost!

Price was $120k plus $12k auction fee (10%). I too thought it was $100k all day.

I believe the "soft" market is now starting to turn hard. Get'um while you can!

Hi Nathan, I enjoyed the "not so good" pics you posted the other day. Brings balance. Cheers.
