Hi, couple of us are going for a canyon drive tomorrow 6/30 morning near Pasadena CA. The plan is to drive up Angeles Crest Hwy to Newcomb Ranch and back. We are meeting between 9:30am - 10am at Pasadena Foothill Best Buy Parking Lot (3415 E Foothill Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107), in front of Starbucks. You guys will be extremely disappointed and frustrated if you leave that late in the morning, as you will be nothing more than part of a caravan of RVs and a bevy of people that have no clue on how to drive the twisties...
I used to run Angeles Crest all the time, on the Duc 996 sb., back in the day...Yes, the 748 motor was swapped for the 996, with the host of slippery slope go-fast goodies; like a lightweight slipper clutch, disks, and flywheel, degreed cams, MotoServicio custom tune chip, Arrow c/f full 50mm race pipe, Ohlins suspension F & R, Marchini magnesium wheels, Ti cush bushings...$5.00 of fuel, bought a whole morning worth of adrenal fun!

I used to frequent the Crest, Newcombs Ranch, and Mt Wilson often wayyy back in my biker-day youth. I took my then GF to Newcombs on our 2nd date, of which we're celebrating our 22-yr Anniv in a couple of weeks. I wish we could have joined the fun run but were outta town. Please post again for the next run ...you guys rock and we wanna join y'all!
By chance I drove to Newcombs (and then over the top to Wrightwood and I15 headed to Palm Springs) arrived about 9:15 and parked between 2 Boxsters and then enjoyed the scene as about 10 more Porsche’s arrived. Found out it’s a standing event: every Friday breakfast at 9:30am. Great bunch of cars and owners.
