Doubtful. Explain?

Heads are the biggest blockage that keeps these engines below 400hp. Heads with RS treatment (valves etc) will not flow much more than 390hp, no matter the displacement. Heads like elite, extreme, 9M really open these engines up.

Performance Update: The new engine has been running great and is much faster. It really woke the car up and feels like just what this car needed. Before the engine build my best lap time at Barber's Motorsports Park was 1:43.03 and after the build I was able turn a 1:38.07 lap time at Barber's. It was a lot of fun passing all of the GT3's at the last track day! I'm no pro and have about 2 years of track experiance so I expect to only get faster.

My car still had all the rubber bushing and an old JIC magic 1 way suspension so it is time for an update. It's currently in the shop getting Ninemeister RS uprights, JRZ 3 way suspension, RSR inner tie rods and GT2 Evo outer tie rods with bump steer, Rothsport steering rack brace, ERP Pro-Series rear control arm kit, ERP kinematic, camber and toe links, Rennline solid subframe bushings with tilt kit and all mono ***** to replace any other rubber. I will follow up with updated lap times at Barber Motorsports Park with the new suspension setup

GT2 Evo outer tie rods

Ninemeister RS uprights and JRZ 3-way suspension

ERP Pro-Series Rear Control Arm kit

JRZ front reservoirs with Anze mounts

Rear JRZ reservoirs with Anze mounts

Hey Tripp,

Awesome! You will notice a huge difference once your suspension is completed with solid suspension bushings and modern/fully adjustable coil-overs. ....And all of the other goodies you are adding.
Indeed, passing GT3s is fun when driving a track prepped 993. I have a similar set up for my 993 with Moton clubsports, full cage, and a super close ratio gearbox....but only 300bhp. An engine build like yours is in the future.

Enjoy, have fun, and we look forward to your next update.
Cheers

Thanks, I'm looking forward see what the new setup will do. I plan to do the gearbox in a couple of months. If I were doing the engine build again and when it's time for a refresh I will go with a 3.9. It's about the same money and provides more power and higher revs.

What bore/stroke combination would/will you go with for 3.9L?

Rennline solid subframe bushings with tilt kit
why with tilt kit and not without?

From what I’ve understood so far, with a very low set up without the tilt kit the rear suspension is going to work better

Looks like stock 996GT3 cast intake with M96 resonance flap and a custom T for the filter. Was anything else done?
