I used it on my black 997.2 and I was pleasantly surprised with the result. It’s not perfect, but damn close.

Yeah, for a home use product its okay. Small, very small touch up works great. But anything bigger than a grain of sand nick is more and more difficult ie the bigger the nick the harder to fill and get a good result.

But for the small money I buy one on every car I acquire.

Pretty much echo the comments above. I've used it a couple of times and probably will again. It certainly isn't perfect and a close look will still reveal paint damage but it is fairly easy to use and makes chips much less noticeable. It will pass the glance test for sure - even up fairly close. But if you know where the chips are, you will still be able to spot a slight blemish.

It's possible my technique isn't terrific but it's not that bad either.

I have never used the kit but have found that for large gouges even ones that go all the way to bare metal or in the case of mirrors down into the plastic housing,
  • Building them up in several layers of touch-up paint so it is above the level of the original finish,
  • Allowing it to thoroughly dry for a week or so and
  • Then wet sanding with 2000 grit sandpaper using care not to sand the adjacent finish down, followed by
  • Buffing with a foam wheel makes for outstanding results.
My car is single stage Speed Yellow so it has no clear coat top layer.
I am not a professional body man so use my ideas above at your own risk.

OK all, sounds promising - as its around $70 I will give it a try.
Practice makes perfect.
Thanks once again.

For another source, I have used touchupdirect.com

I painted my RS tail with their product and I'm very pleased with the results and match of the turquoise blue metallic.

You don't need the expensive crap, just but the paint

allow to dry for 1 week to 10days

use can wet sand it after 1 week with 2000 grit - very lightly

the use scratch ex lightly

much cheaper and same result
