Question price check - wheels

Hi,
What is the going rate for a set of 996 NB factory hollow turbo twists?
Please include the condition range.

Thanks!

Someone had a set for $600 IIRC in the FS forum a couple of weeks ago but I think that's an exception. I'd say if you find a set under $1K you're in good shape.

IIRC, Porsche never made the 996 Turbo twists (hollow spoke) in NB offset.

I found this online

The 18 inch twist wheels for the 993 come in a hollow spoke version (referred to as "Technology Wheels by Porsche), and a solid spoke version (referred to as "Turbo-Look") Both versions appear identical from the street view.
Basically there are two different 8x18" twist wheels for the front , hollow spoke (technology) and solid spoke (turbo-look)
because the front fenders on all 993, narrow and wide body, are the same, these wheels will fit from car to car. they have a 52mm offset.
There are four different 10 x 18" wheels for the rear. Widebody offset of 40mm in both solid and hollow spoke. Narrowbody offset of 65mm in both solid and hollow spoke.

Since they are the 993 NB hollow spokes, the price just went up $500 from my initial estimate.

As Iko said, your initial post was inquiring about 996 Hollow Spoke/Turbo/Twist/Technology wheels in narrow body offset. I don't believe such a wheel was ever made to fit the rear of a narrow bodied car (65mm offset).

As to the "turbo twist" wheels for narrow body 993s, they are available in solid spoke and hollow spoke. As you said, the hollow spoke were officially called "technology" wheels. My 97 was so equipped from the factory (option code 408). The hollow spoke/technology wheels are quite common for the front as they fit NB and WB application. Rear hollow spoke/technology wheels with a NB offset (65mm) are much more difficult to find and are usually priced accordingly.

If you're front wheels are 8" wide as opposed to 7.5", they're more valuable ....

Probably so! 7.5" fronts are Boxster/996 wheels despite carrying a 993xxxx part #.

I bought some 993 NB hollow spokes from car-part.com a few months ago for $400/set. Two of them need to be refinished...

OEM 996 turbo twist wheels do not exist in hollow spoke for a NB rear fitment. They do, however, exist in solid spoke form for a NB rear fitment. http://944racing.de/felgengewichte.php

OP - with the rear weight bias of the 993, what convinces you that the weight savings to be gained from hollow spoke vs. solid spoke in the rear are necessary? If you've come to that conclusion and want to stay OEM, get the 993 turbo twists, available in NB hollow spoke.
