No there aren't any other product negatives.

- IMMO BLOCK causes ZERO increase in battery quiescent current.
- Everything in the car acts and behaves as if the IMMO BLOCK wasn't there.
- The IMMO warning bulb doesn't have to be removed to keep standby power low.
- There are no modifications to the vehicle other than swapping out the gong.
- The Immobilizer and ECU are stock, and require no hacks.
- There are no wiring changes, jumpers or other hacks.
- Nothing in the car has to be disconnected or disbled.
- Any ODB scanner that worked before IMMO BLOCK will work after IMMO BLOCK
- If you could program FOBs before IMMO BLOCK you can program them after IMMO BLOCK

It's as simple as presented in the thread.

If you don't believe it, too bad. Buy a unit and measure it yourself.

Thanks to Jay for investing his time and talent to address a minor dissatisfaction with this 25+ year old 993 IMMO "security" design. Talk about a niche market. 25+ years ago few in the Weissach brain trust could invasion that a 6-speed manual will now be a greater theft deterrent... and their valiant attempt to prevent unauthorized driving off of a 993 would not be necessary...

The occasional changing out of a battery (maybe in sync with key fob and garage door opener replacement schedule) is a great trade off to have the IMMO "tango" be limited (yet reversible). Elegant design for sure.

Also, as does the missing gong, pale in comparison to no more IMMO tango. Value in the eye of the behold.

Thanks JAY!!!

So why has hasn't a datasheet been posted describing all its features and loss of standard 993 functions, e.g. the gong relay warnings,
and the need for a battery replacement over time? This should be posted too, since you're selling a product via the Rennlist Forum, right?
This would be helpful for potential buyers, which was my purpose in my post that was deleted, i.e. discussing potential product issues.
By the way, you haven't mentioned how long the battery will last and its type.

Think of the bright side of the recent postings on this thread, they developed some interest in a thread which has become less active lately.

I’m no wizard but a lot of what your asking for was released months ago during development to those whom PM’d or posted throughout on this thread.

The IMMO comes with instructions and he emails you a PDF as well. He even mentions standard 9v battery and that a lithium 9v battery would give longer life/time between changes. The loss of the gong is mentioned too and has been mentioned on here. I think this is and has been very transparent on its development.

Standard 9 volt alkaline - 2 year life - 2 years longer than the same battery would last in the configuration you proposed.

Thanks. The configuration which was posted was a brute-force solution and a starting point for a DIY effort, e.g. a RMS voltage/signal at the gong relay pin 85.

Not the case here in SoCal. Would still feel uneasy about leaving any Porsche sports car unattended.

Anyway, most young people don't even care to drive!

It would've been helpful to post a PDF or a link to one, at the start of the thread defining all the specific issues, e.g. uses a 9V battery, & the loss of the gong relay functions.
