Default which is louder b/w sport cats and fister I vs fister II with stock cats

Currently running fister III on my 993 and would like to tone it down a little bit.

Is the 200 cell cat pipe and stage 1, louder or more quiet than stage 2 with factory cats? I'm after more quiet, but not too quiet.....

I guess I am fully prepared to buy all combos of the above and sell what I dont use if I need to.

I'm not sure about the comparison, but I had Fister 1 and sport cats and it was very loud and very deep, like a V8 muscle car. Didn't sound like what I think a 911 should sound like.

Do you currently have sport cats or stock?

What did you replace that with, and how does it compare?

Sport cats and Fister 1 is loud and deep, but I think the sound is perfect for a 911. 100 cell cats is borderline too loud though.

I kept the sport cats and swapped the Fister 1s for RSRs. I think it sounds great, not nearly as deep and loud as it was.

My previous white c4s had 100 cell cats and stage I and I thought the sound was perfect: hot roddy and significant tones but not so loud that it sounded like a look-at-me Ferarri with Tubis. The cats eventually didn't pass smog and I went back to stock cats and left the stage I -- too quiet. So, I got some Fister IIIs and they were way too loud for me, much like your experience. I was going to go stage II but sold the car.

So, I can't answer your question directly, but on my new c4s, it is stock everything but sitting in the garage are some FabSpeed sport cats and stage I mufflers that I haven't got around to putting in yet. But that's where I think the sweet-spot is. Good luck.

Exhaust sound is so subjective. I have Fister III and I am keeping a watch out for someone selling Fabspeed 200 cell Sport Cat X-Pipes (Bischoff style). For me the Fister IIIs need a little something extra.
