Default PPI needed in Miami

This is my first air cooled purchase after being a Porsche owner since 2006. My friend has a well sorted 993 cab, and I’ve used that as a benchmark for an acquisition. I’ve finally found something to bring me to the dark side. That said, it’s located in Miami, and I’m outside of NYC. In a normal world, I would fly down to look at it. Since we are still being cautious, I am looking to get a set of eyes on it. Pictures are great, but much can be missed. I will also want a reputable shop to take a look at it mechanically.

is there anyone in Miami that can take a look, and also recommend a good shop for a PP? If all checks out, I would do an oil change while it’s there.

thanks in advance for any / all recommendations.

Parkhaus quoted me $700 for just a leak down on a 993 because they said they had to remove the entire intake manifold..... that was the end of that conversation.

If you're looking at an RMC car, don't use Vertex. If they refuse to take it to Champion, seriously consider walking away from the car.

I am not looking at an RMC car. That said, is it ok to take to Vertex? Is Champion’s PPi process much more superior than others? Thanks for the info thus far.

Planes are flying.....for any kind of good money I'd go down and watch while they do your PPI.
I suppose just wear a mask or pass on the car. You will always find another.

No first hand experience with Vertex, Im only weary of the affiliation and RMCs insistence to work with them.

Champion is expensive, can't common on the apparent redness noted above, but that's who I would trust my investment with if it's a big purchase from an unknown seller.

Thank you all. To add more color, the car I am purchasing is from PCAR market. The auction ended Friday. It had a full engine rebuild by BHR in Kansas City about 5 years ago / 2500 miles ago. The former owner did a bunch of additional upgrades / mods to the car at that time, totaling over $40k of work. Receipts from BHR since 2012 were included during the auction process. This car has a lot of the upgrades that I would eventually do, if I purchased a stock unit.

Champion has no clue about air cooled cars. Don't bother. I learned this first hand. Vertex, Parkhaus1 both crap shoots, usually for the worst.
Orbit, KMW, TuneRS, Scott Finlay, MGM all are reputable shops.
