Expenses for 21 years of operation - 95 Cab
Raining today so I went through all of my receipts and decided to recap my maintenance and repair expenses over 21 years for my stock 1995 993 Cab and 68,883 miles of driving.....interesting data - for me anyways keep meticulous files by year in one place.
1) Spent $ 27,132 on regular maintenance and repairs by a shop or by myself - $ 1292.00 a year or $107.67 a month. All in all, a pretty solid car over the years and not costly. My 2003 996 C4S had $12K in warranty work over 4 years with a multitude of repairs (not IMS), so the 993 was screwed together a bit better with higher quality parts it seems......
The costs for the 993 over the years include:
1) Oil Changes - 14 oil changes or every 4,914 miles at average cost of $ $272.64
2) Summer 17 inch. Performance Tires - Rears lasted an average of 11K miles and fronts lasted 21K - Average cost per set of $ 761.00 - Sumitomo, Continental (2 sets) and BF Goodrich brands - had Pirelli 18 inch. snow tires for some of the mileage.
3) Brake Fluid changes - 5 at average cost of $ 183.50 - should have done more of these;(
4) New Belts - 2 times at a cost of $231.00.
5) Hood and rear engine cover struts - 2 times at a cost of $ 763.00
6) Air filters - 3 times = $45.00 total
Other highlighted things that needed repair or replaced-
1) CV boot
2) CD radio replaced
3) HVAC actuator
4) Convertible top and cables - once
5) Rubber air intake part
6) 4 bulbs - hood, rear engine, rear light and front fog light
7) windshield wiper switch
8) 2 DME relays - 1 spare
9) Cooling fan transistors - twice for high fan
10) 2 batteries
11) Latch motors for convertible top - 2 after the recall
12) 3 sets of wiper blades
13) 53 quarts of extra oil for top ups
14) upper and lower valve covers - replaced twice
15) front brakes - rotors and pads replaced - still have original rear brakes all components
16) harness warranty repair - $ 0
17) AC system rebuilt for $1900 - evaporator, condenser, etc.....
18) Strut brace for 18 inch tire option.
19) Rennline dead pedal added
20) Chain tensioner gasket repair.
21) Door handle gaskets - both sides
22) Original clutch still firm......just lubricate the clutch pedal mechanism...
23) On second set of clear 3M stone guards...after OEMs...
So, just need to fix a torn rear rubber spoiler part and odometer on-board computer light and I am good for a few more miles!

Cool Info!
I have a spreadsheet that I have been tracking all of my expenses as well.
bought my 96 993 C2 in Jan 2007.
Total Expenses: $47,261, of that, I consider $31,915 to be maintenance, and $13,800 are gross performance costs, (totals do not add, as I include sold items to benefit the performance costs, so there are about $1500 more in performance, costs. Maintenance includes, oil, tires, i.e. stuff that are necessary to keep the car running, Performance items are extras, like Golden Rod, V1, HIDs, Stereo upgrades, etc... Probably a bit subjective. I did a Top End in 2016, so that is a huge piece of the $31,915, however, the 97 ECU and flash was put into the performance side, although the car stalled with out the flash, so, it could go on the maintenance side.
All in all, my figures come out to $2394/year in maintenance, although, I see that figure definitely going down in the future. Now that the top end is done, the evaporator has been replaced, have a LWF and clutch (2015) my only real costs are oil changes, registration and insurance.

Cool info, but -
"Hood and rear engine cover struts - 2 times at a cost of $ 763.00"
We're they made out of gold?
I'm hoping that's a typo.

Great info,
In base years I run about $400, oil, oil filters, maybe caps and rotors every third or 4th year
Years I buy tires add $500 every 4th or 5th year
Years I have extraordinary service items done by a shop add $1500, for example, new hydraulic clutch parts and install for clutch actuation
Once in the life of ownership clutch/synchros/ wires/plugs/ lifters add $5000
Once in life of car new coilovers add $2000
