My 993 Regret
Recently acquired 1995 C2 midnight blue metallic with 34XXXK miles. At 65 years of age my only regret is that I waited so long. I suppose better late then never.

Hi Shimmey,
Think of it this way, you now have the maturity to recognize and enjoy its subtle graces.

I too waited too long to get a 993. I was always sort of afraid to try a "newer Porsche" as I knew I would want one. I have been driving the same 356 A Coupe since 1968. There was a brief time in '74 with a '69 911, but sold it for a big $900 profit. However it wasn't until 2014 that I again strayed away from the 356, with an 82 SC, it was at my wife's insistence that we needed a new Porsche with A/C and that she could drive. The SC wanted to have A/C that worked, and the clutch was just a bit to stiff for her liking, it went up for sale. At the same time a long time friend had 5 Porsche and needed to downsize, the wife liked his 968, cheaper than the SC, more room, great A/C and a Tiptronic, huge upgrade, why didn't I buy one years ago???? She also like his 993, but it wasn't for sale. 5 years later (2019) my friend passed away, his son asked me to help clean out the garage. So we made an offer on the lot, a 65 356 C and the 993 plus a huge truck load of parts and tools. Decided to sell most of the parts as they were late 356 and early 911/912, and the 356. That left us with 3 Porsches, the 59 356, the 94 968, and the beautiful Arena Red 96 993. Now I'm still afraid, this time of the GT cars, a GT3 could be fun.....
Last time there three were together, the 356 is now in San Diego

Thank GOD this isn’t another “regret for selling”thread.
Congratulations..these cars are remarkable.
Now, make it your own. Refresh that suspension, get some more mechanical music out of her too. We are all really good at spending other people’s money...
Welcome
I am reserving a Midnight Blue Rennlist sticker just for you...PM your name and address to me please.
