It's a nope for me as well. But it may look good in a darker metallic grey -- something less conspicuous that also complements the silver color of the headlights and turn signals.

if its your car, do what you like..... personally I would never do it....if you are asking for opinions and looking to change accent pieces on your car I would suggest powdercoating and rebuilding your calipers in your color of choice..

It is my car. Had paint shop fill plate holes & felt like I needed to come up with something else to justify the trip. Searched everywhere looking for examples and found none.

My first thought as well.

The car now looks like it has a cartoon face with the grill as the mouth.

Lol! Hope I don’t think “face” each time I look at.. Will be short lived if I can’t forget.😊
I do think a contrasting color on a black turbo bumper shows the detail (lost in all the black).
That was the intent. Was surprised I couldn’t find examples of others painting grill.
