Poll on new wrap
So, I’ve been consider a wrap. White was never
my color but it grew on me since the ownership of my late 964 and it grew even further with the 993.
Normally I would never get an obnoxious color. For example I love Ferrari but would never get a yellow one. I dislike those lime green Lamborghinis etc.
But the 993 is a cartoon character and somehow it fits it.
I’m either thinking a slate gray or Mexico blue wrap. Help me decide.

Agree. Big bucks and the car has to come apart in a million pieces to do it really right. I’ve seen it being done correctly and the level of disassembly is enormous. If you’re ok with that and the car never being right again, then go for it.

The challenge is when the wrap is four or five years old and is at the end of its service life and one has to remove it. Or a minor parking lot bumper cover scuff prompts a recovering and a match to the old wrap is problematic. Wraps although highly promoted are a form of built-in obsolescence for cars as once wrapped the headaches and cost involved in maintaining the car's looks soon follow. If you buy a million-dollar collector car who cares you have the money to waste and you probably rarely if ever drive the car. If you plan to actually street drive your car I wouldn't go there.

I drive this thing pretty hard on mountain runs and track days lately. Maybe not the best idea as you put it in different perspective.
I plan on a full engine out glass out paint/restoration in a few years. I thought it would be cool to do the wrap between now and than but I pick up all kinds of nick nacks from the road. With the wrap it may look even worse than normal.

Actually I started liking white. When I first bought it I thought I will restore and do a full paint on this in few years and do a color change. Now, I’m thinking I’ll keep it white. The blue wrap would have been something between now and than.
I might however get roof stripes.
