I currently have a 993 cab which I love.
But I’ve always loved more Coupés.
So I don’t want to write hours of words but I’d need just a couple of proper suggestions and answer to this questions:
I’ve found, among things:
- 993 C2 manual RED
- 993 C2S TIP BLACK
similar mileage, similar maintenance records available, both really good estetic conditions and SAME price.
the C2S is stunning, black in black...... the most beautiful example of car ever made. But it’s TIP
the C2 is a super cute too and ready to receive some soft customization and it’s manual.
i obviously prefer manual All my life but the beauty of that S (at that price)....... daaaaamn!!!
Give these info and variables where would you go?

I know exactly how you feel about a black widebody -- simply gorgeous and incredibly alluring. But to me, tip is a dealbreaker, but narrow fenders are not.
Is your cab manual and are you keeping it? If so maybe a tip c2s will be ok...but if you really can’t stand tip, get the rd c2

I honestly never driven a TIP in my life.
I know it slow and should t be the end of the world in performances. I don’t track them and mostly used for normal daily/weekend and sometimes longer trips.
but it’s that lack of feeling of power and testosterone without a stick shift .......
still it’s gorgeous.
Things to consider, the Tip may be a bit slower, but in normal driving it wont matter. If you do congested commute traffic driving, then the Tip wins. Anybody can drive the Tip, so if you have a traveling companion that wants to help drive they don't have to know how to drive a stick. Looking into the future in 10-15 years, how many will know how to drive or want a stick shift? I have 993 with a Tip, and yes I would like a stick sometimes, but for a pleasure driver it is easier and mindless. My wife loves to drive it, our kids can drive it even the one who doesn't want to learn to drive a stick. We have two stick shift cars and the Tip is the one we drive the most, unless I want to go out blasting thru the mountains by myself. In addition the black S is beautiful and is much more desirable for the same cost, a good S is priced in the $80-100K while the C2 is in the $50-60 and the Tip deduct by some is 10-15% do the math...
StephenGilroy said it, a Tip is mindless. The manual requires engagement and thought. As to color, a black car is spectacular for the first 30 minutes after you wash it, if you don't look too close and see every tiny speck and swirl mark. A black car with black interior in a hot climate, not for me. Red/cashmere/manual, all day long.
Buy the one you'd rather drive. Both are gorgeous.
And btw, there's really nothing "narrow" about the non-S cars. Every time I'm a car event in my NB, people come up to me and say, "Ooooh, this is one of the wide ones, right?"
I think instead of "narrow body" and "wide body" it would be more accurate to say "wide body" and "wider body."
