Default New battery needed.

Hi guys time for a new battery. I got six good years out of a Interstate Mega-Tron Plus high amp hour. Suggestions would be helpful. Interested in high end long life. My car is a 1998 S. TBH George.

How about a lightweight gel battery? You'll need to also get a kit to fit it though.

Odyssey 925 AGM battery here. No chance of acid spilling into the frunk. Requires a hold-down kit from a vendor such as Rennline.

FWIW, last time a checked, the DURACELL AGM is made by EAST PENN/DEKA and sold at Sam's Club.

If you have a COSTCO membership and are DIY they sell Interstate, both lead-acid and AGM.

The original was a T6 aka group 91.

T4, T5, T6 sizes all fit, look for an agm version corresponding to the Ah / reserve capacity appropriate for your use.

Group 48 batteries (H4, H5, H6) also fit but are slightly taller, the h6 might interfere with the plastic trim in front of the trunk.

very timely. I somehow killed my less than 2yr old interstate battery doing a recharge. I had it tested yesterday and it's dead. I was going to just put in the same battery but wondering about the AGM battery.

I've only had regular batteries. What is AGM? Interstate shows these 3 options https://www.interstatebatteries.com/...search-results

Anyone know if there would be any issue with the MTZ-48 H6? other than price?

Got 8+ years out of my last Interstate MTP-91 but ended up replacing it with an Interstate MTX-48/H6 AGM last year (~$215). New one was just a tad taller but no problems with fitment. No complaints after 1 year as it's my first AGM-type battery but I did have to get a new battery tender with an AGM option so something else to consider.

Is 28Ah not to low?

Never had an issue, but my cars were always garaged (unheated but attached garage at the last house and heated but detached garage in the current one). Perhaps the coldest start the race car ever saw was 40 degrees.

Do you see a better Odyssey than the 925 that will still fit?
