Default Lightweight Door Pulls For 993?

I'm wanting to install some lightweight door pulls in my 993 like the one's in the link, but everything I'm finding says it only works for 964s and older. Would these also work for the 993?

They will work with a 993. I would sell this set of leather look pulls with the door panels and speakers for $200 +ship. These were in a 993.

If those had the red fabric pull I would be interested.

I have the red pulls too.

To use these pulls they need nutserts (2 each door) installed in the door. I think the holes are there already. I don’t have the nutserts.

Ignoring the garage queens that never see the light of day, all of the aftermarket red pulls fade to pink horribly. Last I looked they were still available from the factory for $39USD.

964.555.832.00.N13 - GUARDS RED
964.555.832.00.H03 - MARITIME BLUE

I wouldn’t worry about factory quality on this one. It’s just a nylon strap with a metal grommet. I’m using black ones from here. They also have red and yellow-

I have the oem version and it is far superior in many ways to the Appbiz and other cheaper straps. The Porsche part is very thick and woven like a seat belt. When installed with the factory hardware (pin and circlip) there is no play in any of the parts. This contact point is well worth buying from Porsche in my opinion.

if you want the RS door pulls, you probably want RS door cards as well. Rennnline sells a decent pair of RS Door Cards for $250 - that includes all the hardware and the red pulls that will probably fade to pink. These are plug and play. It’s easy enough to swap a fresh pair of pulls whenever you want.

You need to pull the straps through the plastic shield on the door, and I find the pulls can get wet when washing the car, or in a heavy rain.

@Foxman Jim.... pertinent question (well atleast to me) ... the Rennline cards appear to have another round pull....above the door handle. Is this picture wrong or did you call them prior to ordering and ask them to leave that out?

Thanks Jim!

Best,
Paul

Hi Paul,

You’re looking at the stock doorlock on earlier model years. The kit does not come with the doorlock. The plywood door panel comes with precut holes. You cut holes in the pleather as needed for window switches and speakers.

Here’s a photo from my 993.

To those of you that have done the RS upgrade I am interested in buying your stock Hi Fi ones if they’re black leather.

The threaded holes for the door handles are not included in a standard door, only RS and Cup doors. See picture below for door differences when flat door cards are installed, picture is of a Cup door.
The position suggested by AppBiz is not correct for their door card kit.
Correct RS door in photo below.
