Were there 2 different PNs for the Tequipment Aluminum 993 Shift ****? My car has the Y06 Option and looks like 911Jeff's in post #15, just mine is not CF.

The shifter **** in post #4 is clearly a different shape that I don't think was a 993 shifter.

I believe post #4 is this shifter:
https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/993CRESTKNOB.html "993 RS ****"
Post #15 looks similar to this one but without the carbon fiber goodness:
https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/SKU993SKNOB.html I've been searching for one of these in Classic Grey but it is NLA

Thanks!
Wasn't familiar with the "RS" version in post 4.

The shifter in Post #15 looks to be the Y06 Aluminum Tequipment version, whereas the **** shown here: https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/SKU993SKNOB.html is the "S" shifter, which I don't think is aluminum and much lighter. I think it was standard on C2S.

My 98 C4S came with Aluminium/leather shift **** and parking break handle. I think they are option codes X97 and X98.

Yes, I agree with you; from what I gather the C2S looks like the Tequipment version but isn't as special. Unfortunately I haven't had my mitts on either.....

Edmond,
I sent a PM to you. Thank you for the offer, but I would like to install a new black leather handle.

Here is mine I'll take $400 or best offer. My son is returning to Michigan this week (we hope). So carriage will be free. It's a bit scuffed in places and the electrical contact has been replaced.

This thread is another reminder that parting out cars instead of selling as a whole is a lot more profitable. Earlier this year I purchased a race car with the intentions of flipping it. I got no bites at $40k so i sold it off in pieces for $50k+. I also retained the new Ohlins TTX 4 way suspension, Syvecs S6 ECU and AIM MXG dash. That’s another $20k+ right there.

The Tequipment aluminum handled ebrake looks just like the one that came in my 996 C4S, only it matches (sort of) the Arctic Silver console and radio horseshoe.

Andy

My option list has them combined as Y06, IIRC it was $800 originally.

My black leather/aluminum handle is on its way to a new owner.
The car is hibernating, so I have some time to source a replacement handle.

Hey Andreas been a long time, I'm sitting here waiting on my next meeting thought I'd log into Rennlist as I'll be dumping some 993 related items in the near future and wanted to see if any of the "old timers" were still around.

I have a stock black brake handle in my basement that would never measure up to the standards of your 993 😂 but if you want it to have one to restore or just use until you find a better than new one I'll send it to you.

Just pm your address so I don't have to look back through years of pms or emails for it.

Hope everyone is doing well.

I decided I'd rather have the simple, all-black handle.

A Tequipment shifter, handbrake **** and some mint hardback sport seats all together can fetch over $12K! Supply and demand nowadays!
