Average age of a 993 WB owner
i had read a thread about 'values' and that got me thinking about current availability and when owners might be interested in selling. obviously, some original owners could be in the 70-75 range and some may still own their cars. i thought about current owners, like me, who are current holding onto their 993s and will sell at some point near/after retirement. when might those cars hit the market? just thinking out loud...

Three Wheelin'
My wife and I are 53 and 52 respectively. We bought our 1998 C2S about 10 years ago and she says she will never sell it. I am not in that camp, but I don't get much say on this topic

Looking at the current demographic chart showing, 40% in 50-59 year range, reminds me of a survey back in 1988, but about 356 ownership. Back then there was big jump in participation, 356 events were huge, many new (1st Porsche) owners, and over 50% were in the similar 45-55 age bracket. It reasons given, they wanted one while in college (1956-66), the kids are now old enough to be on their own, incomes were good, many had paid mortgages, and life was good enough to afford a "toy". Now the 356 owners are in their 70-80s, not driving as much, not feeling the urge to go out and crawl under a car, and many are starting to downsize, there are still many still driving their old cars regularly, but many younger owners are buying or inheriting the cars. Prices of 356s have peaked for the ordinary 356 cars, but then there is still a lot of "stupid money" out there fueling the "outlaw craze" and the rare models.
I still drive my 356 regularly, had it 52 years, but do enjoy the 993 for long drives or when the weather isn't perfect for windows down wind in your hair driving. Sometimes I think I should sell it, but then I climb in and it feels like "home", memories of being 20 and enjoying driving.
The future of 993 owner turnovers may be near for many original/older owners, but still 25-30 years out for the majority, unless of course there is a restrictive Government regulation about old cars and gasoline.
They should slowly continue to rise for the "good cars" for another 5-10 years. Once we start getting events again, such as the Werkes , prices may jump some.

A little broader pole than what you are looking for, but might still be helpful to you...

Are you speaking of the car or the owner because with age one's body just gets wider for many?

I don't like to think of the bracket you put me in. Can you revise it to 30-40?
I just bought one, have wanted one for the last 10 years or so but have always bought other cars.
