New Owner Intro - back in an aircooled
Hi All!
Finally posting my hello after recently picking up a Guards Red 993 C2 six speed. I had been actively looking for a 993 for about a year but the journey has been much longer than that. I had actually owned a 964 C4 coupe for a few years starting in 2012, but it was stolen in Los Angeles and life (move, job, spouse, house, etc) got in the way of searching for a replacement. Fast forward to 2020 - after years of moaning and groaning about the loss, the time was right to look for something new. My wife's only requirement was that it must be in a "fun" color. No blacks or silvers for us. My search started out pretty wide, but my big decision ended up being 964 or 993. After test driving a few of each I ultimately settled on a 993. The power, agility, comfort balance just felt right to me.
Like others, I missed out a few cars during the search, but after a random call about a picture-less posting from a Texas Porsche dealership, I found it! Red, manual, C2 coupe, lower miles than I expected, decent price, clean carfax with a maintenance history at shops from my region before the car moved to Texas. Check, check, check. PPI only showed some minor notes, so I pulled the trigger. It helped that the previous owner(s) already completed some fun mods:
Anyway, I'm looking forward to spring/summer up here in the PNW when I can get out and take more pictures. Hope to see some of your cars in person and continue learning from this amazing community.
James
A quick snap on one of the nicer days here.
Being delivered in the rain, typical for PNW

- Recaro Sporters
- RS rear blower bypass
- Porsche Classic Radio
- Lowered on PSS10 suspension
- 18" Rotiform Fuchs
- Fabspeed Sport Cat X-pipe
- Fister mufflers (though I'm not sure if they are stage 2 or 3s)
- Turbo bumper with bumperette delete
Anyway, I'm looking forward to spring/summer up here in the PNW when I can get out and take more pictures. Hope to see some of your cars in person and continue learning from this amazing community.

That’s awesome. Congrats!
My bet is the volume is coming from the x-pipe more than the fisters but others will surely chime in.

That front end is my favorite configuration for the 993; euro turbo bumper, clear lenses, and fog lights (not brake duct fog lights). Cool all black Fuchs too. Enjoy.
Also, if there is a pipe connecting your muffler inlets and outlets they are Fister 2. If there is no pipe they are 3s.

This is great to know! It's a little too low to crawl under for a look, but I'm going to try to get it up on a lift in the next few weeks.
Found an old shot of the 964. Yeah it feels great to be back.

You must have made a quick move on this one. I saw it come up online and it was gone a day later. Nice find!

Congratulations. There're many good roads in the Pacific NW to stretch her legs. My favorite quick hop was to ferry from Mukilteo to the south end of Whidbey and drive up to Deception Pass, catch another ferry at Anacortes to Orcas... Oh, the memories.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
