ABS Controller: WTB or Repair
ABS controller PN: 993.618.127.00
(1997 C2 wABD)
- Anyone had a good experience with a repair center they can recommend in the US for similar controller / ECU etc?
Or:
- WTB used one, PM me if you have one gathering dust.
Thanks all.

I would first try http://www.bba-reman.com. Frankly, there isn't a lot of choices out there. But regardless, my experience with them has been excellent. You may also try ECUDoctors.com. Never had any work done there but was given a tour of their facility and was impressed. Possibly they can help? Best wishes!

No affiliation, but I noticed this last week and thought about buying it as a spare.

Hey thanks both
I've contacted BBA so we will see what they come back with - thanks for a recommendation, that is what I was hoping for.
The craigslist posting has been removed. But thanks for sharing, I'm going to keep looking to keep options open.
Cheers

A new one costs 2300/2400 Euro
A large part of the cost is related to the 2 small metallic cylinders that I think are kind of pressure limiter valves, they are very expensive, but I think you can re-use yours, since there isn't anything electric inside.
Another possibility would be buying the early 90ies BMW ABS/ABD Bosch unit, which is 100% the same as the ABS/ABD of the 993, only differs in the size of a threaded exit, you must apply an adapter, I can show you how, and install the two cylinders yiu already have on that unit.
the electric part is the same, same connector, same everything.
Wild times when Porsche wasn't thinking to this kind interchangeable use...

you have to know that on a 993 cup or a race 993 gt2 those parts are not installed .
my 993 gt2 clone have not enough rear brakes power and I found that those parts are installed, I will try to have them out and see if it’s better ....

Hey Guys, I appreciate the help / feedback.
Just to be clear, (maybe I used the wrong terminology) my ABS "Control Unit" is reporting a fault, not the ABS Hydraulic unit. The fault reported is "12 - Stop Light Switch".
I've contacted BBA and will see what they come back with.
Thanks again.
