Let's start a roll call of members who will be driving up from SoCal on the 5 and when/where they want to stop and meet up along the way with other RLs. Not sure there are hotels I would trust overnight parking.
I'm in Bakersfield just North of the Grapevine. Google says a little under 4hr drive for me so I'd probably like to make it a 5hr drive, so to be there by 10AM I'd leave no later than 5AM. There is a Chevron with lots of parking and pumps at the 5 and HWY 119 just on the West side of the 5 after you go over the overpass. 20238 Taft Hwy, Bakersfield, CA 93311
I'd be willing to meet any RLs coming up from SoCal there between 4:45AM and 5AM.
PS: Will there be on-site muffler installs if I wanted a set of Stage IIs? I'll buy some 3M stone guards too if you install them?
