Whats your battery voltage before and after you start the engine?

Lets do some tests and see what gives. Answer the questions above and we'll work through this with you. These are very robust, reliable engines. 9 out of 10 its a deferred maintenance issue. The key point is to test the module to ensure it has failed before replacing it.

I'm up for some vicarious virtual wrenching this weekend.

<edit> BTW, I have exact same car

Doubt there's been any implication that the DME ECM is the source of the problem. Using a diagnostic tester, as an example, can provide an insight about the functionality of the fuel system, i.e. injectors, MAF, & O2 sensors.

Get some CRC MAF cleaner and spray it on the sensor. If only to rule this out as the issue. A dirty MAF will cause your symptoms.

Sorry for not updating about this case. The problem was the leaky intake stacks. I changed all 6 of them with new gaskets and it is running fine since then. It has been more than 6 months already.
Thank you for all your advices. Really appreciated!
