But please, make vaccination a medical decision and protect yourself and your loved ones. No need for more senseless deaths.

I had the pleasure of meeting and "breaking bread" (as Rudy called having dinner with me) with Rudy as I sourced a few cars for him over a few years. He told me about his early years and the trials he endured before he "found himself". Special guy....pretty much responsible for the respect the 993 has today.......Sad to lose one of the great ones....
But it's too bad this other side was never documented (that I know of). Obviously he was a person who put a lot of weight on his faith and he dropped crumbs here and there about how he faced challenges and started small with one truck, etc. but it would have been great if there would have been a record on a podcast or whatever of him narrating his journey.

It's great his collection and his enthusiasm for Porsche and BMW was documented via youtube, social media and what not...

Just waking up here in New Zealand to learn of this sad news of Rudys passing.
Years ago he was more than helpful in advising and assisting me with the installation of a split grille tail to replace the incorrect turbo tail on my C2S.
He also gave the warmest of welcomes to come and visit and to see his amazing collection and he was going to work out a scenic road trip back to LAX for me.
Sadly I never quite got around to it.
Whilst he was certainly Mr 993 and a very successful businessman he also impressed me as being a great man whose christian faith was integral to who he really was.
We will all miss you so much Rudy.

I am so sad to hear this. Watched all his videos over the years. My one contact was through email about a set of LM rims a couple years ago. He was very polite and took time to answer all my questions. Slept on it before buying and a day later I had a very large unexpected expense come up so never was able to buy them. What a loss for the Porsche community. My prayers go out to his family. RIP Rudy!!

I'm beyond shocked to hear of Rudy's passing. He will be remembered and missed. I was hoping to see him at Luft this September in Indy. I never got the chance to visit him and see his collection, but the invitation was always open. I remember talking to him at the last Luft show, what a class act. Prayers for his family, RIP Rudy

What a loss...
I'm still in shock Rudy is gone. I first heard of Opo here. Always had great posts. Then I got to meet him online, then the phone, then in person. Folks don't come along better. My hear breaks for his family who've had a tough time in the past year. Our community lost a great.

Condolences to the family. What a great guy and what a loss. If anyone could figure out how to bring one with him, it would be Rudy.

RIP Rudy. Didn’t know him personally but chatted briefly with him here on RL. He’ll be missed by this community.

This sucks. I didn't know him well but we've exchanged a few messages, like many on here/instagram.
I'll share that I'm in the process of color-changing my 993 to jade green (not the metallic) aka hellgrun. He was as excited as I was to see it when it gets done because he'd never seen a PTS 993 done in that color. The car is going into color next week and as much as I can't wait to see it, I was so excited for Rudy to see it too.
Beyond bummed. RIP.
