You think you will be rolling in 2024?

My goal is no later than mid-year. My target is to fire it up by sometime in April. It does need to go back to the paint shop for final cut/polish. The shell came home for assembly straight from the booth.

High level to-do's:
  • Have to hang all the parts under each respective fender and run the associated lines to all of them...
    • FR: oil cooler, oil lines, horn, etc.
    • FL: AC components/lines, etc.
    • RR: oil tank, lines, etc.
    • LR: AC lines, carbon canister, etc.
  • Some minor maintenance items on the trans/motor before it goes back in (seals, cleaning, etc.)
  • Re-install motor and trans
  • All plumbing/wiring in the engine bay
  • More fiddling w/ the window frames on the doors cause I never got them to 100% satisfaction
  • Re-install all seats and door cards
  • Install front/rear bumpers and all exterior lights
  • Adjust suspension
  • Final cut/polish on the clear coat
  • Wheel alignment
  • Seals around front/rear glass, emblems, etc.

There's a bunch of distractions in there amidst all of that but those are the high-level checkbox items anyway.

By the time Feb rolls around, I want to go at this full force.

Looking forward to seeing this come back together. Rennlist build threads have always been my favorite. I absolutely love the color you chose.

Helluva nice color and great progress , have a friend that discovered an early ‘72 T in jade green and was able to buy it bring it home and the paint responded to careful restoration and waxing and it turned out spectacular !
He ended up selling the car on since he had a few projects but boy he has regretted it ..Bert

Tear up a brand new 993 RS steering wheel? Sure, why not?

Leather removed...

So, two interesting things here...

First, I always assumed this little silver bit was just a piece of plastic. Nope, it's a solid chunk of machined aluminum that is painted (presumably the same silver sprayed on the wheels).

Second, I found it interesting that this hunk of aluminum has a green paint dot on it. Some 993 RS suspension parts have green dots on them and this is known but I found it surprising to find one here, of all places.

I'm going to be recovering the wheel with black Alcantara like I used on all the other interior parts. Going to do some contrast stitching on it, though this color isn't exactly what I'll end up with (still gathering various greens via trial & error).

Why do I get slowly the impression that there is a little OCD in the build ...

That car is getting fabulous
