Truly amazing work…I have the skill sets to both make myself a tuna fish sandwich, and feed it to myself. A skill set to replicate this level of craftsmanship, not so much.

@boomboomthump you’re even on my coast, so I got a shot at seeing this stunner when done. Future road trip anticipated…

haha, do you mean because there is more they'll be looking at? They are actually very noticeable when the door is open.

I am always surprised most people keep those stickers on because they are so big and loud. Nice to know they are optional. Maybe we can discuss at TROG in October.

When I bought my sportsters they provided the stickers. I opted to not use them.

Oh that's interesting. Guess I'm out of the loop given my seats came with the car and I didn't receive them brand new from Recaro.

That said, I'd never seen the decals on a set of Sportsters (or even know they were included). I kind of like the look of the brackets that are made for their bucket seats (PPs, SPGs, etc) and thought I'd custom make these stickers to mimic the look. So I relocated the small, rectangular silver sticker that has the model number and custom made these to fit the sides. Who knew??

Curious - based on your experimentation with the RS wheel, do you have a sense or perspective on whether or not the horn button could be switched out? Prefer the more subtle blacked out look of the custom leather horn button I have on my regular momo.

Leather removed...

So, two interesting things here...

First, I always assumed this little silver bit was just a piece of plastic. Nope, it's a solid chunk of machined aluminum that is painted (presumably the same silver sprayed on the wheels).

Second, I found it interesting that this hunk of aluminum has a green paint dot on it. Some 993 RS suspension parts have green dots on them and this is known but I found it surprising to find one here, of all places.

I'm going to be recovering the wheel with black Alcantara like I used on all the other interior parts. Going to do some contrast stitching on it, though this color isn't exactly what I'll end up with (still gathering various greens via trial & error).

Two different sizes and very different design from the standard Momo (or other brand) aftermarket horn buttons on racing style steering wheels. I've never see a horn button this size that would be able to replace it.

You could possibly customize the existing one (I've been on the fence about it myself) but you'd have to sacrifice the existing inlay. I have a strong feeling that removing it will ruin the existing inlay, so it then becomes the point of no return.

Sort of assumed as much but figured you likely have the best insight given the work done! Thanks

I'll post updates on the steering wheel and seats soon but...

New tires/wheels have arrived.

Tires mounted.

The center cap is borrowed from my 996 Hollow Spokes. I plan to run the OE 993 center caps on these (smaller crest with the ring).

I'm slow on the updates because I've been battling the flu but wanted to throw another wheel pic in here with the center caps.

If you squint hard enough while staring at my avatar, you can see these mounted on the car...

I have a strong feeling that my two biggest topics will be: 1) it's not a wrap. 2) it's not mint green, it's jade green.

I also own a mint green 964 and it certainly does make people happy.

And then question 3) Is it the original color...? I am often challenged to 'prove it' when I tell people that it is...
