Replacing motor mounts?

Changing from any bad mount to any new mount will always be rewarding.
I spent a couple 100 miles on URO RS mounts and then switched to Porsche stock, no other changes. New RS to new stock.
minimal difference. Not imperceptible, but for me not worth the 6x cost difference.
no idea of long term performance but with a 30min swap, you can buy a lot of UROs for a grand.
if you’re after the quietest cabin to hear the detail of the Burmeister then it may be worth it. If not buy UROs and get a free set of rear tires

According to JasonAndreas, Rein/Corteco is the OE supplier for Porsche (post #34). https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...rmarket-3.html
The fitment guide on FCP says that Rein/Corteco fits all 993s and 996s. You can find the same mount at Rockauto and Amazon for <$100/mount. Look up AVE0382P. I believe C2 and C4 originally used a fluid filled mount, which many Rennlist posters have claimed leak.

Until it fails and you drop a motor... The difference in price between OE and URO is $200.

I installed the Wevo engine mounts earlier this year, replacing the original mounts that came on my C2, and the improvement in how the car drives was immediately noticeable. I have not noticed an increase in vibration.

Another shout out for OEM RS motor and tranny mounts. I did this years ago, and it's been flawless. No noise or driving issues. Love the ability to install OEM RS components. Factory made for our cars, with improvement dialed in.

I have authentic RS mounts but what evidence do you have to support them failing?
Also, the price difference is $350-450 depending where you get the OE mounts. $550 is presently the best price you can get them ($650 retail). The URO's are $200.

Bump. I just bought Rennline mounts, but am considering the OEM RS mounts. I’m not concerned so much about NVH coming from a 991.1 with Numeric Shifter and cables and Soul Exhaust, and a BMW with monoball front arms.
How is the Rennline bushing longevity? There is an isolated post on RL about the Rennline and Wevo bushings/pillows compressing after several months and leaving the center mounting bolt loose. Frankly, it’s hard to believe because polyurethane shouldn’t deform or break-in that way, but I tend to trust other RLers.

So, those of you with Rennline, Wevo, or other polyurethane motor mounts, have you checked your mounts recently and found them loose? Should I avoid the whole headache and purchase OEM RS despite possibly shorter lifespan?

After reading the thread posted, it may be a 996 issue.

Thank you! From my understanding of poly, it seems that the bushings would crumble instead of compressing permanently. Very happy to read yours have held up well.
