My new new 993

My new new 993
I'm a big classic Merc, Jaguar and Porsche fan. And I've owned many cars. For a long time I was going to buy a 928 GTS. I still have that dream. I love the GTS, such an amazing Porsche and one day I will get one. I could even take a nice S4 automatic.
But the 993 was always my #1 dream car. When I was a young guy I couldn't afford it and then the prices started going up.
I still wanted that car and almost became obsessed with it. My current job is well paid and I had some extra cash and now that the inflation is escalating I thought it's now or never.
There were some tiptronics with higher mileage available in Finland for around 58K prices. Then there was a newer varioram version available for a great price. Turned out that car was resprayed and had rust issue under the window rubbers (yes that typical one).
I decided to invest a little bit more and buy a good example right away.
1994 manual C2 with sports seats, lock rear differential and original Porsche sport suspension. Iris blue metallic color. 90 thousand miles. Full Porsche service history and recent 111-point inspection by a Porsche specialist. 100% original paint.
Cant' drive the car yet though. It's still winter time in Finland. It's going to be LONG two months.
PS: Guards red, midnight blue, polar silver, arctic silver and iris blue are ALL amazing colors. Iris blue seems to be quite popular. I think I scored ok. The car is photographed in direct sunlight though. Iris blue is a bit darker in real life.

Thanks, all.
It should have M030 sport suspension from the factory (whatever it means). It's 10mm lower than the standard. Barely noticeable though.
I don't know if the European cars had this as standard or was it just a popular option but based on the pictures I've seen the stance on the US versions seem to be a bit higher.

Congrats on your 993 and welcome to Porsche ownership! Iris blue is not so common!
It looks like a well sorted car, always a good advice to pay more for a good car than buying a cheaper one with things to fix which will end up costing more and you cannot enjoy it fully while fixing it up.
993 was also my dream, I missed the boat when the prices exploded around 2015, told myself I won't make the same mistake again and bought mine last year. Bucket list item checked. I have to say the chase was probably more exciting than owning the thing. Is it only me or is it hard to maintain that "high" once you got the thing you chased for so many years?

Thanks.
I was searching for Mobile.de and Autoscout for two years and iris blue seems to be much more common in the EU area and UK (for whatever reason). Many are available, even at the moment.
Then I saw a video from a Rennlist 993 gathering in the US and there was only one in iris blue. Maybe just a coincidence.
Actually the car in the original 993 brochure was iris blue.
Zenith blue and midnight blue are very nice too. I think zenith is quite rare. Riviera blue extra rare. Most cars in the EU are iris, ocean or midnight blues.
Cheers.

Thanks.
I think the only possible mods I'll do are the Carrera-badge on the back, original amber rear, side and front blinkers and possibly that new "classic" Porsche radio with that navigation option.
When it's 30 years old I can put it into "museum registry" which lowers the insurance cost considerably and you only have to inspect it every 5 years. We have that kind of regulations in Finland. That also requires that the car is in original, stock condition and that's how I like it.
Cheers.

One thing I did however was upgrading the exterior lights. My stock halogens were borderline dangerous to drive in the dark!
