993 PPI in Ohio
Hi All,
Looking for a spot that knows 993 cars well to do a PPI near Chillicothe Ohio. I live in Florida and will fly up if it works out.
The car is a 1995 with 52k miles
Thank you!

Boy, I don’t know if there’s any air cooled Porsche shops out there. I’m in Cincinnati and I could certainly recommend places but Chillicothe is closer to Columbus, you probably need to find a place up there.

Most people near central Ohio, including me, will recommend Jeff Brubaker at http://kraftwerksperformance.com/ But he might be too far from Chillicothe.
Many locals also like Auto Assets in Powell, https://www.autoassets.com/
Also, Porsche Columbus service department is friendly to the classic owner crowd. https://www.porschecolumbus.com/
All are very experienced and big supporters of the Mid Ohio Region PCA.
Hope this helps.

yeah I know. It’s the area I’m from but not a lot of people driving Porsches there. That’s for sure.

I used auto assets, not easy to get into but certainly worth a try. (owners name is Chip Vance). it's in Powell, an hr drive from Chillicothe.
you can also use this list for alternatives. looking at this list, I don't see one super close to Chillicothe.

thank you for responding. I couldn’t find you because I didn’t have the space between NB and 993! Does used auto assets know the 993 well?

Yes, Chip Vance @ Auto Assets (his team of mechanics - ask for Matt or Eddy) knows 993 well, they have serviced many local's cars. Not sure if Jeff B. has the cycles to do a PPI, he is about another hour drive north of Columbus. Northside Wrench is another air-cooled service shop, ask for Dave. Problem will be they are all busy, getting an appointment may be a challenge (know of multiple people waiting weeks to get in for service currently). Care to share details on the 993? Not many in the area and most are MORPCA members, so it may be a known 993 to other members.

Hi Bocktogan,
If you can find an inspector I would provide him an inspection list starting with the Porsche dealer CPO list of items and then adding 993 specific items. In this way you are less dependent on the variability between inspectors or even their familiarity with specifically a 993.
Here is a page that discusses this:

@Matsuzaka looking at a 993 TT in north Dayton. An advice on where to get a good trust worthy PPI would be appreciated
