Has anyone found a way to move the steering wheel on there 993 closer to the driver and/or lower it?
I remember reading some years ago about a “shim” type product that tried to accomplish that……
any suggestions would be appreciated

A number of companies make spacers. You can also get an aftermarket wheel with some dish to it. A Mod07 will bring it a bit closer to the driver.

Won't these extenders make it hard to reach the turn signal stalks?

^^^^ I have a Mod07 with a 964 signal stock cover (same dimensions as 993) and it is a bit of a reach to the turn signal. HOWEVER, you do get use to it and it is a true pleasure to drive with. At first it may seen a bit thin but it truly is the best diameter and thickness for driving and with the alcantra cover your hands just hang on the wheel.
