Default 993 value. Opinions and comments for insuarnce value

Cross post on 964 forum.

I just realized I have been sleeping at the wheel with insurance coverage - the market may have run away from me. I have stated value from about 4 years ago. Appreciate a comment on Insured Value. Thank you.

Grand Prix White '91 964 coupe with 95K. I think I'm the 3rd owner maybe 2nd, Bought in 2013. Nice upgrades - GT3 seats, MSC 2 ways, Factory RSA tail and deck, cup 1's, 993/964T Big Brakes, Goldenrod, Rothsport Billet shifter. Etc.
Riviera Blue '95 cab with 100K miles. Bare metal respray ( I have the CD-rom documenting). Rudyfied. The car has provenance - I bought it from Rudy Mancinas while we were partners in the very first garage. He is the previous owner on the title.

Check Porsche Auto Insurance, related to PCNA. Only in 7-states, but TX is included. Agreed Value, fabulous rates based on mileage driven, only Porsche-certified repairs shops, only factory parts, wonderful customer service.

Thanks fsa. I have great coverage and a good rate by Chubb Collector car. My problem is - what should I insure them for? What should the stated value be?

I will look into them though, sounds like a solid company.

You can look up Porsche sold on BAT and easily scroll through the final prices. Click completed auctions. The there is a box where you can type in Porsche.

My ballpark, although might not be accurate is:

- coupe $115K

- cab $70K

Thanks crw. I saw BaT has a nice scatter plot for time/prices. Just wondering how accurate it is, etc. Appreciate the input. BTW, I had the values reversed - in my mind the Riv Bluee 993 was worth more than the 964, but I bought the 964 when everyone thought they were dog $H1T.

For most cars, but not Porsche - when the top goes down the price goes up

Default Hagerty

I would recommend using hagerty’s valuation tools as well. They seem pretty accurate. Btw, if your looking to sell that 993…😎

Why are you wondering about this? It's actual auction results.

If anything they are understated because you should add the auction fees to get the full selling value.

Apologies for bring up a few month old thread. I'm the one that did the work on the Riviera Blue Cab. I sold it to Rudy and if you have any questions please feel free to PM me. It may help you on the value.

Panorama recent issue. Probably relevant to the discussion and topic though original question awhile ago.

I would not use Excellence Magazine of late and their price guide to establishing such. They're often significantly under the market.

Nice Riviera Blue ‘95 cab. Yours is one of 7 cabs in the color, and I own one of the others. There were also 17 coupes made in model year 1995 before the color was discontinued for the US.

I bought the hardbacks that are in mine from Rudy Mancinas. When I met him, I was driving mine and I will never forget he said “man I could see that Riviera Blue from a mile away”. He was one of a kind.

Here is mine. Tough call on insurance number..

Yes you did. And I have the binder and teh CD-Rom of the work. You and I have corresponded a few times in the past.

It's been driven about 2200 miles since 2012 when I bought it from Rudy.

set it at the price you would need to buy a similar one. 75-90k seems ok.

Excellence Magazine's prices are way low, have been historically for several years in older 911's.
Agreed Values should be substantially higher, reflected in BAT and other active marketplaces- for sold vehicles.
Insurance adjustors would salivate to use Excellence's "data" to substantiate undervaluing real time claims and adjustments!
