served me more than 10,000 track km only (3.6L engine) under partial extreme hot conditions (hottest trackday with 48degC in the air (that was nuts, I know).
Unfortunately we have no more supplier for that oil here in Dxb.
After that, i switched (for the now 4.0L) to the above mentioned; depending on availability.
In the end, as Geo mentioned, its a little like Glassbowl sience; if you change oil often, even olive oil might do the job ...
Btw. pls don't ask about price for above, you have no idea how lucky you are in the States.

my engine builder, one of the best, jae lee/mirage international (built singers 3.6/3.8) AND he races...recommends DT50 and RL 10W60. although my car is not a track rat, it does see the track. i run both

Technically, you want the lowest first figure for the most fluid oil when cold, for starting an atmospheric engine is where the most wear happens, and the highest second figure for more viscous oil when hot, in accord with the engine tolerance specs and heat. With the 993 engine tolerances and temperature when hot (up to 150* Celcius), you need the 60 with the highest centistokes (fluid viscosity)
Porsche adopted the viscosity very late, and their explanation is better
