Oil question
Don’t flame me please. I’ve been reading the forums and see so many opinions.
The car is a 1995 993 with variorum and it’s a 3.8 track car with no cats. Used for track in GA. Very hot track days.
the car came from north and used to use liqui Molly 5-40.
Some say use M1 20-50
v twin 20-50(motorcycle oil)
liqui Molly 20-50
brad penn 20-50
thoughts please. Thank you

largest spread possible,
with proper zddp
10W-60 ? porsche classic or castrol or liqui-moli , motul , mobil 1, or whichever. 10W-60 with good zddp .
All oils are from the same refineries. Only additives change
ps: had a need to answer an oil question, undertray next...

Seems to be a little different than prior oil threads.
Sounds like a track beast. 3.8. Maybe hot running for extended time.
is there any difference between a track only, with oil possibly changed after each event and a road only car changed every 3k?

Another one to consider that's readily available is Valvoline Racing VR-1 Synthetic 20W-50. It has all the properties you're after. Consider boutique products too from Red Line, Driven and Motul these are all outstanding. All three companies have live tech help too to assist you in your decision.

Track only oils like Mobil One Racing 0W-50 have much higher amounts of Zinc and Phosphorus and reduced levels of detergent.

I always went off of the old oil threads when the engine builders would chime in. Because of that, I run the Motul 300v 15w-50. Yes, it may be an overkill. No, I don't care.

Geo, thank you for your post.
Don't you want the smallest spread possible (for the proper viscosity range)? Less friction modifiers and less breakdown? This is how I always read it from people like Steve W., Jake, Charles, and Lake.
Thank you for your future response.
