Default PCA's One-Mile Review on my 993

A good friend hooked me up with Damon from the PCA, who took my car for a spin around Angeles Crest and reviewed it. While I should have taken the front plate off for the video, I'm glad that he seemed to like the rest of the car! Enjoy.

Nice review and nice car. I'm thinking the LWFW will be on my list when the clutch is due. Did you need any mods to your 96 for that?

Cool! I feel blesses that I got to drive Gonzilla’s car for over a mile! That was pre top end, but with the turbo ARB’s, which inspired me to immediately purchase a set for my car.

If you're talking about the ECU mod to alleviate any stalling, no. That being said, when I first got it back (and was using it as a DD), I would occasionally stall coming to a light about a mile from work when I left at night. Same light, same time-frame. Car would stall and dash would light up like a christmas tree. This hasn't happened in a while so I guess the car wised up. Who knows?

HA! You should drive it now. I've refined it a bit since then! The Numeric shifter is next level, as is the clutch/flywheel setup.

Are those plugs for on your headlight washers? Where did you pick those up from?

Very cool and bump for more visibility.

More of this and less oil or price tracking threads.

Funny. I hadn't thought about those in a million years and someone else recently asked me about them. They were made by GT3Tek at some point and I don't think the demand was there. I remember I picked them up on sale because they were discontinuing them. This was at least 10 years ago. I remember when I put them in I found that one of my headlight squirters wasn't even hooked up. Probably pretty easy to have a machine shop just smooth out the top of a giant bolt that fills the hole. It looks like what they may have done.

Recently watched your video and was entertained! Although I'd give driving any 993 a higher 9.93 score in all driving categories! 😀

I still haven't caught up with the MPL clutch slave cylinder, and now you're telling me I'm even further behind????

Awww, that's you? Cool, we have a celeb in the midst!

EDIT: a 6.5 rating for daily driver?!! Heresy!!! I have PSS9s and RoW Turbo sways, and the car is a flawless daily driver: willing to track, yet docile and comfy when called upon. This part of the review is fundamentally wrong! Great mods, here ...enjoy it, Mike!

Cheers to that!

Well, it depends. While I like it, the Numeric unit is pretty aggressive. I think 90% of people would be more than fine with just upgrading to the RS rod & lever (which I think is the biggest bang-for-the-buck upgrade you can do to the car). You'll have to drive it and see what you think of the Numeric.

HAHA! That's me!!!

I think you nailed it with your description of the perfect dual-duty road/track setup. I love how my car drives, but I can't take credit for it. The previous owner, RL'er Kkim (Kelly Kim), really did all the right mods and set it up well. I've chipped away at it a little further during my tenure, but he did all the hard work. Thanks for the kind words Edward. It's nice to hear that from one of the RL OGs!

I've got a 95 993 (but a cab) with similar chassis mods and the RS shifter mod and the exhaust mods and I've had it for over a decade. Just a great car. Really liked the video, thank you for sharing. Its damn near a perfect car!!
