Road trip

All great suggestions; off the interstate. A good radar detector is a must imo. The Escort Redline has more saves than I can count & allowed for a lot more “fun”.

Take as much time as you can. I am in Rocky Mount NC on my way home from Hilton Head. We stopped in Front Royal the first night and ran the Skyline drive and Blue Ridge Parkway to Roanoke and Charlotte before arriving in Hilton Head. On our way home now and stopping in Old Town VA tonight before arriving back on Long Island Tomorrow.
Have a great trip.

Like others have said, take your time and enjoy the trip. I did California to Florida in my 993 mostly avoiding interstates and had a great seven weeks through 22 states. Plus plenty of shorter trips through FL, GA, SC, NC, TN in the GT3. The days are more tiring than in regular cars, so I tend to make driving days shorter. Ten hours in the GT3 and I am well and truly worn out. Not so much in the 993, however, still too long.

My wife and I have been going back and forth to Florida from Ohio for a dozen years as we are snow birds.
Typically we only drive 1000 miles without stopping overnight from Cincinnati to St Petersburg where our daughter lives, although, we have driven the 1100 miles to our Ft Myers condo without stopping overnight few times.
About five years ago I ended up buying a 96 993 from a fellow condo owner and drove it back to Ohio.
I did stop at St Pete but from there I drove solo, as did my wife in her Lexus, cruising at our typical 80mph it took just under 14 hours. My 993 was in stock condition and I didn’t find the drive that much more tiring than in our Lexus, having owned four other earlier air cooled 911s I found the noise level and the ride of 993 significantly more comfortable than my earlier cars.
No doubt in my mind, 993 is the best air cooled 911 ever made and is a good long distance driver.

My 993 is a better long distance car than my previous F80 M3. Drove it from ATL to LAX when I first bought it, and next week I'm driving it up to Luftgekult

Your wish is my command: https://mikest.com/cars/us04.htm It's long and fairly unedited, and English is not my first or second language, but... these are notes from the maiden trip in my first 993 almost 20 years ago, January 2004.
From that trip, the pic is called "The last of the Mohicans":
