Default Happy with RS Engine Mounts?

I have slowly been refreshing the chassis of my 97 C2S (60K miles) during the last 18 months of my ownership. I’ve done the following and have appreciated the incremental improvements towards getting that new car feel. So far I’ve done:

- Porsche Classic Greens + M033 springs
- Walrod bushings with new LCAs
- Rear toe bushings, drop links
- Tons of other non-chassis stuff (ceramic, PPF, Fister 2s, belts, Classic Radio, new OEM speakers, brake pads).

I’m really aiming for OEM +.

The next thing I’m strongly considering is RS engine mounts. Despite the car feeling so much more taut than when I first got it, I still feel some mushiness in the turns and during weight transfer. I don’t believe the engine mounts have ever been changed and so I’m considering RS mounts as the next incremental step. Am I on the right path, and what has your experience been with this upgrade?

thanks!

This is a definite YES in my book. I've yet to come across one person that went to RS engine mounts and wasn't grinning ear to ear, leading them to say "gee, I really want to go back to sloppy hydraulic mounts".

Stiffer trans mount is where I'd draw the line, as that's something that folks generally do report some NVH changes but not so with RS engine mounts.

I second everything BoomBoom mentioned. 100% on RS engine mounts....on positive results. I did nit have a good experience with the RS trans mount as it resulted some very noticeable NVH/resonance in the cabin.

Did you install it in the right orientation? Amazingly it must go in in the right rotation or yes, you will have a ton of NVH. Blew me away such a small change could make such a difference.
check the FSM, there a picture that shows correct orientation

Yes, but I opted to go back to stock on the trans mount since picked a new one up and the engine and trans were out. Silky smooth and quiet now.....except when the Fister IIIs are screaming

Going to take the opposite point of view. I tried RS and one other type (wevo) before back to stock. For reference mine is a C2S with a supercharger which adds a lot of cabin noise, pss9 which add harshness to the ride, rs sway bars. I removed the cat and have fabspeed crosspipe with either none or sport cat which also ups the noise. So am not opposed to and like some additional noise. But the motor mount created an increase in vibration that just made a buzziness in the cabin. Things that never vibrated did a lot over 4k rpm.

Like suspension its all subjective and guys who love them say its not noticeable. But it is very noticeable IMO even above my other noise sources.

I would try to get a ride in someones car that has them.

Anybody notice the difference between C4 engine mounts which are not fluid filled and RS mounts?

C4 Cab. I have Rennline engine mounts (https://www.rennline.com/rennline-tu...-pair-sku-m18/) and FVD tranny mount. I didn't notice any increase in vibration or noise with either.

RS Mounts are high on my list of my "most bang for the buck" mods. #1: FDM Stage III #2 Jay's IMMO-Block #3 FDM SSK/Golden Rod #4: RS Mounts.
