Is the OEM steering wheel still available from Porsche? A quick search online isn’t showing much. I’m looking for a new wheel and airbag for a recently acquired 97 C2S, Arena Red on classic grey, mine is pretty scuffed up.

If the desire is to stay with the original, there are a number of companies that can repair/recover your current wheel. Could be a cost competitive option.

Frank at Exclusive Option, he's on Google and Instagram. He re-did my Grey wheel and I was VERY happy.

Search this forum for steering wheel re-covery (I will not mention the company so it doesn't sound like I advertise for them). Also, consider going with 3-spoke 996 wheel instead as it's much better both ergonomically and aesthetically in most people's opinions. Still other prefer originality, so it's a personal choice.

If you’re in the Bay Area, visit Ivan in Santa Clara. The output was great and I had a really nice, three-spoke wheel delivered in 3 weeks.

JSF, I'm curious what he charges for re-covering, approximately. I have a 3-poke wheel that I'd like to re-cover and sell or sell to someone who would want to recover.

Not too sure about re-covering, but I know he can do it. You’ll just be without the wheel for a month. I ordered a whole new wheel with airbag for shy of $1,000.

Definitely worth a message and a visit to his shop. He has a lot of demo inventory if you wanted to see the quality.
