Back in 1997 when I had a money tree growing in my backyard I bought a brand new 993 Cabriolet straight off Vaskek Polak’s show room floor in Hermosa Beach CA.
Fast forward about 11 years, my money tree had been replaced by a mortgage bush, the market for 993 cabs was just about rock bottom and to top it all off the dreaded Secondary Air Injection engine light raised it ugly head. At that time, I just got married and bought my first house, money was pretty tight, so the thought of dropping $10K to fix the (SAI) issue was hard to justify especially when my Indie guy said he would take it off my hands for $12,000 as is.
Well, I was about to take the guy up on his offer when to my surprise my lovely wife interjected and said, one day you are really going to regret this, I think you should keep it.
We did.
