My thought would be no based my experience up grading my 97 C2S to the Mahle 3.8 P&Cs. The cams were modified and the existing ecu was modified. This was done a couple of years ago. This however is beyond the X-51 for the 993 so maybe more is needed. I have the X-51 in a 997.1 and the changes in that upgrade seem more extensive than the 993 upgrade. I will be happy to learn more about the 3.9 from those more knowledgeable than a I. Thanks in advance.
